Joe Cocker sang a song you can leave your hat on but you can take off your clothes ,if youre going to gisborne leave the lot on ,its a nice place ,like highrevs says in a " positive" note ,true dedication .

just because its out of the way for north island fork, its only an hour further if that than rotorua for the south.

Yeah but that's only another hour after the 9 hr drive & 3 hour cruise from chch in'it? That's ok chch a hit & run mission to welly next year will save a few hrs.

just because its out of the way for north island fork, its only an hour further if that than rotorua for the south. Vast difference in the roads if you compare the highway to rotorua to the goat track up through Wairoa to Gisborne .. I'm willing to bet its a lot more than an hour difference when you compare towing a racecar from Wellington / Rotorua with Wellington / Gisborne ... The latter is no motorway beyond Napier heading North..
