I have spoken today to the Night 1 Senior Referee who is very upset and gobsmacked by the actions undertaken in night two. It appears that some did not like the offences or penalties handed out after night one, so the Palmerston North referee team turned up and basically took over and removed any control the appointed Ref had. For me this is absolutely disgusting behaviour. The ref appointed for the night is a very experienced senior ref. If this is not match fixing then what is it? I truly hope SNZ deal with this appropriately. If anyone has an issue or questions what I have then PM me or call me. well by the sounds of things inconsistencies between calls on night 1 were beyond acceptable.. and having officials with gisborne giants shirts handing out fines is appalling.. if that is not a conflict of interest I don't know what is. So he did not have his SNZ uniform on? Big claim

the allstars vs mustangs race was the highlight of the night for me...epic...was the best effort ive ever seen by the allstars... hats off to asher for parking up and congratulating the panthers after that awesome effort he put in...after leading the race he decided to put in a collective hit which held him up a bit too much..almost got it...almost applause to Waikaraka for a great weekends racing.... big middle finger to the inconsiderate pricks who think its cool to chain smoke around kids and other non smokers..arrogant muppets... Absolutely 100% agree with you on that one regarding filthy smokers. Each track needs a smoking area or make venues totally smoke free for true family entertainment. Now for the tui. Smoke free race tracks yeah right

Speaking to a local ref and he said he cannot just walk/fly into track and start refereeing you have to be appointed by SNZ to do so even red hats

Speaking to a local ref and he said he cannot just walk/fly into track and start refereeing you have to be appointed by SNZ to do so even red hats The original Ref was still on the job for night 2 although he had additional assistants helping him. What was referred to earlier didn't happen like that.

Do you have different information then scraggy? Who was the night 1 referee? We don't need to be naming people. Yes I have talked with the promoter. There was a problem with the way some things were done on night 1 and there were unhappy people mainly concerning inconsistency and the costly fines handed out. It all settled down on night 2 and most were happy with the way the meeting was run. I most certainly was most happy with what I saw and that's all that counts lol.

Can anyone confirm the referees on night 2 were different from the first night? Whilst night 1 was painful to watch the level of officating, it is pleasing to see a new team on night 2. Good on all those involved on night 2, shows that the sport is not always a self-licking ice cream for a select few. It was plainly obvious that the head ref on night 1 was well out of his depth, and needed to be replaced for the good of the meeting and the sport as a whole.

Well it is all good to bag the officials when you are sitting on the other side of the fence along with all the other so called referee's that sit in the crowd. If you are so good at it maybe you should put your name down with SNZ and become a referee at your local track ??. I myself take my hat off to all the Referees & Steward's that turn up every race meeting out of the love of the sport so everyone can have a great nights racing. With out them you would sitting at home on the computer b**ching about something else.

You've completely ignored the fact that most of the complaints came from the track side of the fence at the event. It was also obvious to many fans that things weren't happening as they should. Other than that I agree the Ref's etc. do a great job for little reward.

No, but there are many ways you can bring things to the referees attention
