on here I think Porry41 should be the first person to ask, owned and raced a few rovers in his time. done some very interesting things with them too! - let me know how you get one, im looking at getting a rangie myself for the same reason. old coons on its last legs already

I seem to recollect that around that time there was a few of those big Rovers having problems with liners moving. If there's a possibility yours is one of that batch, the replacement engine would be the way to go. it should have all the same sensors/connections,so as long as the battery is disconnected long enough for the computer to default back to the standard settings,I wouldn't have thought there'd be a problem.

( Have already apologised to Porry)
got booted off Macgors and couldnt make contact with porry who was organising the work to be done, (sorry again for going off line..) did the work myself, took heads off and changed blown head gasket, how they charge the earth for this some of these garages is beyond, me. FFS if i can do it any one can do it. got tricked by the three piece inlet manifold and had the center plate the wrong way round and couldnt see the problem with a frikken spot light doh..a quick change and shes sweet as a nut..well ..anyway typical rangy the electric air ride was playing up when i got it...i knew this and was gambling on fixing it and the gasket a lot cheaper than workshop cost and to end up with a ready 4.6 tow wagon for not much money,,,so far so good..gotta find this component thats playing up and ill be sweet
