Format:
Friday 12th January 2018 – Practice Gates open: 2pm Vehicle Checking: at the Waikaraka Speedway Pits: 2.00pm to 5.00pm Practice: Between 6pm and 7.30pm.
Saturday 13th January 2018 - Eliminations Vehicle Checking 1pm to 4pm Drivers Briefing: 5.15pm All drivers will assemble in the Clubrooms at 5.15pm for a briefing Grand Parade: 6.30pm All drivers must take part. Racing Starts: 7.00pm
Sunday 14th January 2018 – Finals Vehicle Checking at the Waikaraka Park Speedway Pits: 2.00pm to 5.00pm Drivers Briefing: 5.15pm All drivers will assemble in the Clubrooms at 5.15pm for a briefing Grand Parade: 6.30pm All drivers must take part. Racing Starts: 7.00pm
Rain Date In the event of a rain out the event will be rescheduled to Monday 15th January 2018 or on the next opportune time.
Admission Prices are;
January 13th Adult $30 Child* $10 Family** $75
January 14th Adult $35 Child* $10 Family** $85 *
CHILD (8 to 15 years inclusive – proof of age required, 7 and under free )
** FAMILY (2 adults and up to 4 children, 8 to 15 years incl )
NOTE: You cannot get more than 2 adults in on a family pass.
Qualifying and Finals Dependent on number of entries, entrants will be divided into equal groups with a maximum of 26 cars per group over three heats with the SNZ format.
Each qualifying race will be 12 laps. Finals races will be 15 laps. The highest points deemed to be the winner.
Qualifying -
Four Groups. Top six point’s scorers from each group plus the first two place getters from a repechage race which will be the first race on the Finals night.
Five Groups. Top five point’s scorers from each group plus the first place getter from a repechage race which will be the first race on the Finals night.
In the event of a tie on points per group the tied vehicles (from that group) will be required to take part in a “run-off” to determine who proceeds to the finals for the Championship.
Repechage race will be the next 26 highest point’s scorers.
Once qualifying is completed and the top 26 cars have been found there will be a further second tier Championship made up in order of qualifying points. i.e. After the one /two Repechage drivers have been found the next six or eight (depending on entries) out of each group plus the next two highest points scorers.
If a qualifier does not pass Vehicle Checking on Finals night that position will be taken by the next highest points scorer in his qualifying group.
