Palmy promotion leases the venue from Arena Manawatu (council operation). that is where their relationship ends. its the same as the likes of Westpac Stadium, the vendors have contracts with Arena not the promoter and can sell the products at whatever price they want. this is why Gala caterers were eventually tipped out.If their price point is too high then it will bite them in the bum eventually. This comes up every year and PN Promotion cops it all the time. This is not a private or club owned facility that is the difference. thanks its a shame its so expensive at palmy You will right Mordy Your Girlfriend ,down the road Racinda ,is spending 1.3 billion on poverty ,i am sure you will get a slice of the action reporting food costs in its present every day form ..

This comes up every year and PN Promotion cops it all the time. This is not a private or club owned facility that is the difference. Sounds like a PR spin to me pfloyd. The Promoter would have a large say in what is sold and at what price as it's their event. They have sponsors for the event and for argument sake let’s say Coco cola was a main sponsor, I’m pretty sure the caterer who as you says has no relationship or contract with the promoter would not then be able to sell Pepsi. The promoter is spending a large amount of $$ to put on this event which is going to bring in a lot more hungry mouths than a normal meeting so of course they are getting a slice of the hot dog and chips. if you are insinuating i am somehow involved in the event then you are really as mad as some of your posts. read this www.pnspeedway.co.nz/pdf/CET-Arena-Conditions-of-Entry.pdfthese are the conditions of admition TO ARENA MANAWATU not ENZED teams champs. these conditions are effective for all events held there and are no different for a normal club night. try and get commercial food in to westpac stadium or eden park - it wont happen. Arena has simply adopted standard stadium practice. The promotion has no more rigts to dictate the food at the site than the food vendors have over the price of tickets to the event.

Interesting that they sell alcohol there but if you read the rules you could be asked to leave if you drink it! I haven't been to any speedway events at Eden Park or the Cake tin so sorry I can’t compare it to them. If there were a children's event held at the CENTRAL ENERGY TRUST ARENA I'm sure the promote-organiser of that event would have the right to deny the sale of Alcohol there, the Arena wouldn't simply say it's in the contract that the caterer can and must sell alcohol. What you recon pfloyd?

I have read the rules beachboy and nowhere in them does it say that you will be asked to leave if you have a drink of alcohol that you have purchased at the Arena. It states that you will be asked to leave if they are intoxicated, not merely having a drink. Sometimes the bar is open at other sporting fixtures at the Arena, sometimes it is not. And no, I haven't been to a speedway event at Eden Park or the Cake Tin either, but I have been to rugby and league games at those venues and the same rule applies there as well. The last time I went to Western Springs was to the Solo Speedway GP meeting and the same rule applied there too, you can have a drink but you'll be asked to leave if you are intoxicated.
