I am sitting at home getting more and more frustrated with the lack of finishing order being given out at the end of each heat of the finals. There's 3 joblin 3 Rees 2 leviens and we get one to two names as they crossed the line. No points given out before the next heat and it makes it a hard frustrating watch. I was taught by barry b mal and Paul Hickey that it is imperative that you give finishing order once the cars slow down. You repeat it lots and that is what the crowd on site need and even more so us at home. It's the basic of championship commentary. Sorry but this is frustrating me and probably many others. I don't enjoy doing this as I know how tough the commentary role is but really.... I expect more as a watching punter. This is the international showcase of stockcars...

We're told down here at WG to "sit closer to the speaker" or even better "go buy a radio" Careful GM you might be called a moaner!

No point sitting under a speaker or getting a radio if the information isn't there. On the Wade rollover they said the points are close but we're not going to tell you. The drivers won't be listening

Definitly missed a lot tonight. But I must say, its a great quality with only needing to buffer twice for a couple of seconds.

Almost the whole commentary has been like listening to a couple of guys talking to each other rather than projecting to the customers.

The way I seen it was that they only had the ELS from the previous lap. They seemed confused with car positions during that stoppage. Happy to be corrected but I doubt they had enough information to call points positions on that red light.

I found the comments about finishing so late ridiculous probably shouldn't be laughing about the fact your track has a history of nz champs finishing near or after midnight.

Strange You can also look out the commentary box window under a red and see which contenders have crossed the start/finish line and which ones haven't, if there is any confusion. Barry B

Strange ELS shows accumulated points. Laps completed. Current position and lap times. I've never seen one that doesn't and I've been to a few tracks commentating in 20 years

Yes it does. With an updated current live points standing. If it doesn't,they have a problem. Anyways, I'm off to get a life. Apparently I need one. Good chance I'll find it at the super galoons next weekend.

Was listening in at home. And found it entertaining and enjoyable. While watching the cricket. Easy to follow. They did read points. Only thing I will say is next time. Read the points as per 9 number order. Not as they finished that race. Other than that I felt like I knew where everybody was on track. Without even needing pictures to look at. I really dont see the issue. Isn't that what commentary about. Closing your eyes and being able to see it unfold. and I was able to do that. Would of brought the stream but dont have a Visa debit card.

All depends what you believe separates a good meeting from a mediocre meeting = a good speedway club from a mediocre club. I guess I've been so "spoilt" spending my speedway upbringing at Paradise Valley and the privilege of listening to the best trio: Paul H, Barry B and Mintie - in action at the 240's! Why do they get 9000 people there regularly? Because it's an experience! The club knows what works for customers and the commentary team is a major part of it. The Woodford Glen commentary team in my opinion is mediocre - a bunch of amateurs who are unwilling to learn from others! Go to Rotorua during the 240's in a couple of weeks time and go learn how a professional commentary team works all the while trying to process 110 plus superstocks!

Seems the Cook brothers have a strangle hold. Ethan now 1NZ and GP Dan 1NI
