Very well organised night great racing. Big crowd so parking issues just one of those things that happens with a big crowd. Only complaint was the food hotdog was only hot on the outside and chips had more salt than potato. The tomato sauce tasted like dish wash liquid and the price was very high. Next time I will bring my own food.

who rolled 38m after checker in m vs s race have had conflicting reports Pretty sure Uhlenberg, but have been wrong before. And it was after two chequered flags. The top 3 were very close together.

The referee has the discretion to dq the whole team for something like attacking of the infield or arcing in the wrong direction etc don't they? Or has that changed? I want there but were there offsetting offences that the ref maybe took into account? I don't think there can be much defence when you just about cover a 360 degree circle whilst attacking your opponent (no grass involved). At some stage you're going to be going in the wrong direction. I think they whole-team disqualification is still in the book, but it has to be a pretty ugly act to see it activated I think. I like what was suggested above. The attacking car is sent off, AND the leading car from his team as well. I don't think the incident warranted 2k's being DQ'd, but it hi lighted a problem in the existing rule. Baypark lost their key driver to an illegal act, and Sneddon being removed was not enough of a punishment. DQ'ing the team would of been too great, but the current rules don't allow for anything in between. They should. Agree the rules need a do over, but disqualifying the lead car as well? That's all well and good for instances that get caught by the officials, there are always incidents that go unchecked like Humphries eliminating 95a in the first race by driving the wrong way over him and ripping off his bonnet - that would have seen Rebecca Barr pulled to the infield as well Humphries, I'm not sure how fair that is. Maybe it's time to look at amending the no protest rule in teams racing in the interest of fairness and consistency. Perhaps point deductions from the final result could be a starting point? Overall it was a fantastic night, with a few driver brain fades (Observer nailed it in his earlier post) and some great racing, a great result for the reborn Kings. It's fantastic to have another teams racing event outside Palmy and Waikaraka, punters want it clearly and so do the drivers. Well done Huntly for not putting it in the too hard basket. Those complaining about parking and traffic should try and leave the Warriors or All Black's, last night was a breeze, we'll be back next year for sure.

Will the 2020 Palmy teams event become the third different team/club in a row with Asher Rees to win ==2K.
He has a 2K. team and equipment around him capable of this happening as many drivers have and certainly know how to win 2020 for the Kihikihi Track.

An after-race points deduction doesn't work when you're racing first across the line. I'd prefer to see an in-race penalty that they can recover from if good enough. But I certainly don't have the answer as every incident is different. It's difficult to design a one-size fits-all punishment that fairly fits every crime. All we know is that last night's punishment certainly didn't balance up the crime committed upon Baypark. It was no punishment at all. We need something that will discourage drivers from continuing to attack when clearly going against the flow. Even though 2k's lost a car as well last night, the overall effect was greater on the victim team than the perpetrator. In saying that, the best team still won. However we cannot allow this to happen, otherwise we could see a cynical approach taken by teams which could sacrifice a lame-duck car to gain an unfair advantage with an illegal move. The punishment should act as a deterrent to the point a driver or team would never consider using the tactic. At the moment it's worth running the risk.

Agreed Barry, and of course first to the flag last night. Could work for points races.
Great to have the Kings together, another quality team to join the fray come February and March.

In the Ashby case wouldn't it be better after taking the win to pull off on to the infield on the back straight rather than keep racing for another whole lap where you have more chance of being collected by those still racing under the green?. With the Waikato v Auckland incident you can understand with the 4lap race that drivers miss calculated. BarryB Didn't see to many attacking in the wrong direction apart from when Horse got rolled. Did see the 85K do a sneaky slip to the sanctuary on the infield at the start of the semi final against the Busters which was a bit poor. Great night's entertainment otherwise. Horse was guilty of that (chasing sanctuary)twice himself. Auckland deserve to feel a little bitter, Lonergan was on the receiving end of some serious cheap shots!

Just like Mr Roid did against the poms in semi few seasons back at Palmy, as a result got trailered, but then said "i was goin to sit out final anyway, hahaha" Basically a free cheap shot in a semi final race. Shows Teams/Drivers are already thinkin about tactical illegal moves. So will it happen more or will officials wake up to what already happens.

Adds enormous value and professionalism on track to any team he races for. Will be very interesting to see how Kihikihu progress this year.

I also dont understand... If you want to smoke or vape you have to go outside the gates but if you want to drink as much alcohol as you wish and ruin others nights... your allowed to do that inside. The smoking rules are pretty much the same at every other place. The by-product of smoking is you blow it over everyone around you the by-product of drinking is you have to go pee, most people go away and do this part in the toilet they don't just piss all over others.

The referees are busy. Robbie Maybe 15 day stand down. Blair Ashton a well deserved 15 day stand down. The biggest hits in the 4 car 4 lap race came AFTER the chequered flag. Horse got rolled by Benji Sneddon going completely against the flow of traffic. Horse out. Sneddon removed from race but 2k's still won. I think a few of the drivers need to reread the Code of Ethics. Several cars hit in non attacking positions. Attacks after the chequered flag. Cars attacking against the flow of traffic. Percy will have the rule book out!!! Barry B Can I ask what the stand downs were for? Personally from what has been said Kihikihi should have had at least 1 car trailered after the Baypark race, if you can't get the track direction right you shouldn't be on the track. I wonder if in this kind of situation as well as trailering the offender making the team lose 1 driver for the rest of the meeting ie.having only 3 cars allowed would be a good enough deterrent

Here is my offering of a penalty for illegal offences. The offender gets sent to the infield and whatever else the refs consider suitable, the victim team then have the opportunity to trade in their reserve car who picks up where the victim car was. For example. Will Humphries attacked Gary lonergan on the infield and against the flow of the track so will gets sent off and Auckland have the opportunity to replace Gary with their reserve car and he inherits however many laps Gary had done. Teams for years have been performing illegal moves to remove cars knowing worst case they get sent off but the job is already done this idea doesn’t disadvantage the victim team the way the current regime does. Just an idea, probably not perfect but worth discussing

The by-product of smoking is you blow it over everyone around you the by-product of drinking is you have to go pee, most people go away and do this part in the toilet they don't just piss all over others. In my opinion.... Was a great night of action and after watching teams racing for the best part of 30 years, it still amazes me that these cars have become so much faster and so much more sophisticated meaning the hits are so much harder that these warriors put on the show that they do week in week out. But ... I cant help commenting after reading these posts about the 5% of the crowd that ruin a nights entertainment for the other 95% and this also hasn't changed in thirty years. While waiting for the meeting to begin I was reading the article on stuff on how the club want to entice families to speedway for a nights entertainment for less cost that going to the movies and this got me thinking. If these clubs want to entice families, one of the first things they need to do is isolate the consumption of alcohol to a specific area, like they do at cricket matches and also western springs. I am not naive enough to think that you will ever ban alcohol from speedway nor do I think that is necessary but like a lot in life it is all about consideration and moderation. Additionally, (and I am not a movie goer) a more inviting menu and fairer pricing on the food outlets should also be considered and more than one coffee outlet where the line last night was longer than the one outside the money machine on benefit day. On my three visits to waikaraka park last year was pleasantly surprised with the reasonable prices the food trucks were charging. the burger was edible and well priced and I think there was 2 if not 3 coffee carts where you could get your burger and coffee done and dusted during a "Hot dog" class race. Well done to the promotions team. In summary we have the raw ingredients to bake a great night's entertainment, we just need the recipe rewritten and refined to create a family dish that equals a Sunday roast that everyone enjoys and comes back for seconds instead at present we have the same few turning up for cold fish n chips with flat lemonade and that's not appealing. Overall given the size of the crowd I rated the meeting 7.5 out of ten and yes getting out of the car park was painful but no worse than getting out of paradise valley on 240's night and we all know that is my favourite not to be missed meeting. Cheers

There’s already rules in place.. just start enforcing them and disqualifying the team outright. No need to come up with new rules. Drivers would quickly learn and think about what they’re doing rather than know they can get away with it.

Everyones making a big deal about Sneddon rolling Horse , making it look like Sneddon purposly drove the wrong way around the track and rolled Horse . Incorrect . They were both involved in a hit , rather than button off the gas Sneddon kept his foot flat and both cars spun around in a circle resulting in Horse going over . Yes agree Sneddon was wrong and should of buttoned off but we see it with lots of cars in the contact class that will spin around on the track if they are tangled . Some of you like to make it looks like something it was not. Like the visiting comentator last nite spouting off about it saying it is illegal to drive against the traffic and roll another car , maybe so but that is not what happened. Everyone moaning and whinging about it , the only one who isnt is Horse .
