Turning down licensed competitors to race at their contracted track is not only disgracefull but maybe illegal as well. Section C3e of the Speedway New Zealand Constitution states:The object of SNZ is to represent the interest of members of SNZ. I fail to see how not allowing cars to race at their contracted track is in the interest of the competitor. I have always said that restricting entry is nonsense and shouldn't be allowed. SNZ need to step up to the plate and put an end to this practise. BK to their credit have opened up entry to all rounds this year. The Mag and Turbo series in the South Island does likewise.

When the DVS series was launched, this was the blurb, which does conflict a bit with their latest decisions
“As the super saloon class has grown, so has the demand for super saloon racing. Hence the reason that the DVS Super Saloon Challenge has been established. The principal idea behind the DVS Super Saloon Challenge is to give those drivers who are not competing in any other series an opportunity to race more often. Waikaraka Park Auckland, Huntly Speedway, Paradise Valley Raceway Rotorua and Kihikihi Speedway are all very supportive of this super saloon series and have gained extra membership from their support. The DVS Super Saloon Challenge is not in conflict with the Pro Dirt series in anyway, it is developed to help local super saloon drivers and support local tracks. "Fast Friendly Affordable Racing"

As super saloon drivers registered to Waikaraka and the DVS series Max and I have had the chance to travel with the both super saloon series, Max competed in the BK for two seasons and while we never had the budget to be a top contender we really enjoyed traveling around the north Island with a great group of people and got to be part of some of the best racing around the country, After a couple of seasons off to have both knees replaced, we then had the opportunity to join the DVS series, This series has never intended to compete or pull drivers from the Burger King series.
The entry fee for DVS at $220.00 with seven meets at four central north island tracks, keep travel cost to A minimum while giving us all the opportunity to race with good size field of cars which otherwise doesn’t happen on club nights, and to put on a show for track promotors, spectators and sponsors, Steve Williams did all the leg work to round up great sponsors, while not any one person is taking home huge prize money we all get enough to help cover costs for the night, from 1st to last which is great, Steve, Wes and team worked with the tracks to set dates that didn't clash with club champs or NZ's etc
However last season we did run in conjunction with the Waikato champs with Terry Corrin so No we are not afraid of serious competition.
The only thing asked of us as Drivers joining the series is too make the commitment to attend every round, and honour the support from sponsors and track promoters that fit us into busy calendars,
Thanks to Waikaraka, Huntly, Kihikihi and Paradise Valley, All clearly promote which series is running, Any serious Super saloon supporter knows who is running in which series, Ben Harding had the opportunity to join the series this season and for whatever reason didn't, It was made very clear from the outset that entry numbers would be limited and only drivers Entered in the series would be running. As per the promotion package,
Disrespectful and negative social media comments don't help any ones cause, least of all the sport of speedway racing which is what we are all here to enjoy to the best of our ability and budget.
Thanks again to DVS home ventilation, RURAL DIRECT, REPCO, CRC, CPRW, BARCLAY ENGRAVING for supporting super saloon racing
DVS Super Saloon Racing “FAST FRIENDLY AFFORDABLE RACING”
All of which has only been made possible by the people committed to making this sport as great as possible by investing their own time money and skills to make it happen.
Huge thanks to Steve Williams, Wes, Mark and Tania for the countless hours. behind the scene.
Looking forward to the next DVS round Huntly 1st Feb
For Auckland fans Burger king Waikaraka 1st Feb
Regards Shirley Andresen 85A

Terry Corrin. Have not seen him this season. Always great to watch and always a wild card for a win. Is he still racing?

Big thanks to Rossco 77K, Wade 48A and Shirley 85A , DVS competitors and Mick 13 B Pro Dirt series for their input's, nothing beats getting it from the coalface. Unfortunately the non admission of local competitors has over shadowed a good nights racing and a 1 / 2 feature podium finish by a father and son. From what is written elsewhere Ben wanted to try different set ups to get the car ready for USA Bobby to drive the car in a couple of weeks time. If this is the case why couldn't Ben start 1/2 to 3/4 of a lap behind the field and when or if the field catch's up he is sent to the infield by the official's. This way Ben gets to test his car and the DVS series is not impeded in any way. A lot of he said ,she said would of been avoided . As Wade said, we have as a speedway community to focus on the council vs the club for the Parks survival, more energy needs to be focused in that direction. Long live the Pro Dirt and DVS series and super saloons.

Having pre determined grids doesn’t really factor, you could have DVS series cars fill the grid 1-10 and have the track registered cars take up the spots 11-16 or however many cars, then remove them from the points, it doesn’t take a scientist to work that out.
But excluding them from a race night is a joke, if the series intention is to promote the class to the paying public.
The guys not part of the BK series, wanting to make sure his car is right before handing it over to a professional to use, for the embetterment of the class...
Who knew bangbang racing had this much drama! Haha

It appears to me reading through the posts that the club isnt doing enough for its classes and competitors . The ASSCC is a club ,that has a membership for its survival ,which in turn employs a promoter which should firstly listen to the club membership ,the classes running and the needs of those classes firstly and any outside promotion like the dvs series ,bk series should not take priority over the clubs racing membership ,because without the clubs membership and the girls & boys that race there you end up with something thats called nothing ..
