Was not selected for Hawkes Bay.. I'm guessing Taylor was not selected for Huntly also, which is why he is racing for G Thought you could only have one ring in driver for stockcar teams. They’re only a ring in if they signed up to another track cam Taylor is g registered this year so not a ring in

Is there a format set yet? TBH given those gate prices I would have trouble getting excited enough to be bothered going unless the format is real good. To struggle to even get 11 teams to this event is a sign of the state of this class at the moment.

After last years event i'd expect it to have teams coming out of its ears and rampent ticket sales and advertising, but i've seen and heard bugger all tbh.

Stratford speedway website. Click on Major Events tab. Thanks mate. Will ring the motel and cancel my booking. Effin' stupid format that encourages races on the second night that are duplicate of the first night. P!ssed me off last year and I'm not going to pay good $$$ to be disappointed two years in a row.

The format for the second day has been the same since Gisborne hosted the title in 2015/16 - infact if my memory serves me correct I believe Rotorua may have had the same format the year prior. This disappointment and anger at the format wouldn't happen to have anything to do with the Young-Guns early exit last year would it?

It might do.... :-) I've long thought is crap format tho. it rips the fans off as well as the teams. if they want 3 races one night and two the other for each team then make qualifying over three rounds. otherwise just have the top 4 race off for 1st thru 4th and the next 4, 5th thru 8th. In theory you COULD get a dounle up but it would be VERY unusual. How many other sports have a tournament and the 8th placed out of 11 teams has a chance to win after qualifying?

In theory you COULD get a dounle up but it would be VERY unusual. How many other sports have a tournament and the 8th placed out of 11 teams has a chance to win after qualifying? I personally think it's a good idea to have 8 teams left alive for night 2, as we really have a rubbish qualifying system where even with 14 teams, each team only meets 2 of the other 13 entries. One team can make the Top 4 by absolutely thrashing 2 tail-end charlies by the luck of the draw, whilst another can miss out on the Top 4 by scoring two narrow wins against top competittion (thus elimintaing a much better team). Having a Top-8 takes some of the luck-of-the-draw out of the equation, and if team #8 is good enough to take out the top seed after Night 1, why not? The other option is seeding, however people don't like that either..... Rammers, have you been drinking too much sour Go Cola? Barry B
