A better option would be to stream it and save on the assoicated costs. After last years event i'd expect it to have teams coming out of its ears and rampent ticket sales and advertising, but i've seen and heard bugger all tbh. To be fair just had 240.s and the NZ Superstocksand Teams going on in the last 3 weeks Thats gunna take all the attention Should be a great meeting Those stockcar boys will turn it on No worries That has crossed my mind as well, we have had lots of speedway of late. No doubt the teams will turn it on, no doubt about that, just a shame about the timing IMO.

I think I'll play pokies instead.

It might do.... :-) I've long thought is crap format tho. it rips the fans off as well as the teams. if they want 3 races one night and two the other for each team then make qualifying over three rounds. otherwise just have the top 4 race off for 1st thru 4th and the next 4, 5th thru 8th. In theory you COULD get a dounle up but it would be VERY unusual. How many other sports have a tournament and the 8th placed out of 11 teams has a chance to win after qualifying? I personally think it's a good idea to have 8 teams left alive for night 2, as we really have a rubbish qualifying system where even with 14 teams, each team only meets 2 of the other 13 entries. One team can make the Top 4 by absolutely thrashing 2 tail-end charlies by the luck of the draw, whilst another can miss out on the Top 4 by scoring two narrow wins against top competittion (thus elimintaing a much better team). Having a Top-8 takes some of the luck-of-the-draw out of the equation, and if team #8 is good enough to take out the top seed after Night 1, why not? The other option is seeding, however people don't like that either..... Rammers, have you been drinking too much sour Go Cola? Barry B Na I'm on the Coke Zero these days. When did this idea of everyone needs 300 chances to qualify come from. If I'm old enough to remember a time when qualifying was qualifying and if you missed out you came back next time and tried again, then I know full well Barry you are too. Now the Saloons and mods want 23 heats to find a top 52 that do time trials and run on their own so no one ruins their chances. Then they want that to decide a title. At the risk of sounding as bitter as Zits does sometimes, it's just a nonsense. Give them three qualifying races to even out everyone's chances of drawing a bunny team, then go into the semis. Hell give them 4 races then straight into the final for the top 2 teams, who I can assure you will not have already meet each other earlier in the meeting. However they do it just don't let the same teams race twice against each other

However they do it just don't let the same teams race twice against each other I bet the Modified class would love to have enough competitors to find a "top 52". The advantage of a top 8 dropping to 4 dropping to 2 until you get a winner is every race is first across the line. Win you're in. Lose you go home. At least it's not as bad as the old Palmy Teams format with 10 teams. 5 teams races for 5 winners, the lowest scoring winner went home. And that losing winner was without fail the winner of the best race of the night. Palmy would draw Ehutahuna whilst the Wildcats would draw the Rebels, both being formidable teams in the early to mid-90's, and they'd beat each other into submission then both go home after a 75-70 score line. You were okay with that? Barry B

For you kids out there reading this Nelson is near the top, left hand side of the south island, a nice place. They once had a Superstock Team but that was a long time ago. But not as long ago as Rotorua being good lol Anyway if you guys are happy paying seventy bucks to watch the same teams race each other a couple of times then knock yerselves out. I'll find something better to do* *I may watch the same movie twice, seeing as that's what passes for entertainment these days

I can laugh a bit at my favourite team the Rebels - you'll like this one Ramjam: Q "What's the greatest year in the last decade for the Rebels? A "Next year!" Here's one to stick to this thread: Tiroto "Knock knock" Ramjam "Who's there?" Tiroto "Andy" Ramjam "Andy who?" Tiroto "Andy winner of the stockcar teams champs 2020 is the Raaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssscals!" Remember I did bat for the Wildcats to win the semis and final at Palmy - it's on the thread!

Is there a format set yet? TBH given those gate prices I would have trouble getting excited enough to be bothered going unless the format is real good. To struggle to even get 11 teams to this event is a sign of the state of this class at the moment. gate prices are peanuts compared to the weekend just been, and there is likely to be more action. Also this is a genuine SNZ event so no blatant bias towards any home teams.

At $40 & $50 for entry which is all general admission the price is very similar with less teams & facilities Just because it's a SNZ event doesn't mean there can't be bias, still remember being told what went on with the NZ modified title that ended up with 2 1NZs from 1 of the officials who said they'd never do another meeting in Stratford

Not sure how you worked that one out, I could be wrong but the way I read it to win the event you have to win 3 races on night 2. I don't see how you have come to the conclusion that night 1 is the same as night 2, or am I missing something you are seeing?

I'm saying that this silly format encourages some races from the night before too be repeated. If ppl are happy that 25 or 50% of the quarter finals will be a rematch then all good. I'm sure y'all will enjoy it. I've decided to find something else to do. Maybe North Island sidecars, depending on the support classes
