Conspiracy theory? With some teams having friends/family to race against and all that is going on lately then looking at the big picture could they help each other out? What are the chances of an agreement before the race and planning on 1 team winning the race and the other team taking the next 4 places. That ensures a good spread of points going forward and possibly no damage? Definitely not in the spirit of the teams champs and would cause an uproar but it could be completely on the cards .....

could easily fall apart if they don't get big points in the other race. Some had had two narrow wins and not made it through.
Don't think any teams would resort to that.

Nah don’t buy into it, for example I’ve seen rees vs rees teams races before and they don’t hold back 1 little bit.
With 7 teams in each group your gonna need 2 good points scoring finishes in both races. If kihikihi for example agrees and settle for 100 or 95 points race 1, they will be hard pressed to get a huge win against Hawkes bay later in the night 😳

Would obviously have to be the first race of the night and have confidence of big points in the 2nd race. Like you say teams have had 2 wins and not qualified yet also teams have in the past had 1 loss and 1 win and made it through. Would also depend on total number of teams entered and the format I guess

What are the chances you ask? It would be a number less than 1
