Today was a challenging day but I'll try and look at the positive and reflect on the turnout.
I'd estimate a touch over 1,000 people attended today's celebration of life. Graeme "Mintie" Mead excelled in conducting the ceremony under difficult circumstances and those who spoke did so well. Bryce was certainly a character with many a story told.
Speedway comprised a large part of the ceremony. It's unlikely I spotted everyone in the large crowd but among those in attendance were Bill Buckley and Melissa Webb (Springs), Sue Mosen (former SPL employee), Red Wootton & Fiona Wallbank (Huntly), Willie Kay (Baypark), Paul Wade (Kikikihi), Zoe Irons (SNZ) and Barry Brown.
People traveled from far and wide to attend including Sunshine Tyler Courtney, Cindy Elliott, Warenne Ekins, Erin Tripp and Alan Rush.

I saw Puk was there, up from Palmy, ran into Tim Clark on the way out, but had to fly as soon as it was finished so didn't catch up with anybody else. Was a mammoth turnout, for sure. I expected big, but it was bigger.... Barry B
