Cannot believe it. Saw and chatted to him all across the intl series... Man, terrible news. I don't know when this happened, but could someone post the funeral details once known. Cheers.

Very sad news. One of speedways good guys, a top Midget/TQ driver in his time, both here and overseas. Condolences to friends, family and loved ones.

When news hit yesterday I struggled to process what had happened. A day on I'm still struggling.
Bryce was a talented driver spending many years in the TQ class before graduating into Midgets. His USA TQ campaign has become the stuff of legend, upsetting the established favourites and running wheel to wheel with Tony Stewart.
A Midget career sadly cut short was punctuated by his victory in the 2003/04 World Midget 50 Lapper. Bryce excelled in the longer races.
My direct involvement with Bryce was through his legendary tours. I went on 6 of them in total going to over 20 tracks and taking in pretty much all the major US racing events. I'm forever indebted to Bryce for my development in speedway and have met so many wonderful people who would otherwise just be another face at the races.
Bryce was a former clerk of the course at Western Springs and became heavily involved with the development of Max Guilford. He was also heavily involved in the last couple of years bringing down international talent.
His passing leaves a substantial hole in our speedway fraternity. Racing wont be the same without him.

They interviewed Max Guilford who was running the 91 instead of the 79 as a tribute to Bryce...he said he finished 9th in his first heat, and 1st in his second... but I'm not sure he had realised that those 2 numbers together were 91. Quite appropriate.
