Before this event fades into distant memory in part due to all the events yet to take place this season I thought it only fair to give a shout out for a job well done.
My assessment of the meeting was from the watching the excellent livestream.
For me qualifying night was the better of the two nights for both the on track action and general efficiency of running the meeting, that's not to say night two was bad but it just didn't seem to have quite have the same momentum. Night 1 was great, night 2 was good. Understandable somewhat when there were 18 important Superstock races on night 1 and only 4 on night 2. It didn't help that finals heat 3 fizzled out after the first corner drama. Nature of the beast.
Commentary was excellent both nights and Minties pit reports were just what the doctor ordered for us info craving addicts.
The track was great both nights, amazing really considering the weather delays etc.
As always we finished up with a deserving and worthy podium.
The biggest takeaway for me is that the whole event came accross as being professionally run. All those involved can take a bow.
Two things I would have liked. 1/ live data , so we could easily track points etc. 2/ I would have liked to have heard more from our past champions, I'm old just like a lot of them are so readily admit the appeal may be limited.
Great meeting run by a great club on a great Stockcar track that deserves all the awards that are surely heading their way.
