Classic refs, took 361h off for a reason no one knows. But 27h passes 3 others down mainstraight with 2 wheels on grass π. Never mind, well done all teams, least this meeting does it right with making final past race of the night so they donβt have to rush the presentations. took 361h off for attacking a car that was in a non attacking position But he was facing the race direction, just backwards? So if he had backed out, he was still travelling in the race direction.

I am a young guns fan but give credit where itβs due. The raiders just drove superbly all weekend. To the Wellington club what an awesome finals night program and the flames on the track and on top of the bridge was awesome touch. I think hands down the best Stockcars teams finals night in the history of this event so thanks to all the drivers and crew for the show they put on. The amount of rollovers and the number of tyres that came off thankfully none of them got hit? It looks like the Huntly Club will be very busy next season

No, he was nosed against the wall with the rear slightly pointing toward oncoming cars, he cant attack from that position and cant be attacked either.

If I can take a moment to clarify the point Macgor is making so we can all understand the relevant rules
Blocking Role R12-4-42 Drivers on the racing surface, in a blocking role, will be considered (stationary or not) part of the race and contact may occur.
Stationary Vehicles R12-4-45 If a stationary vehicle is blocked by the wall, poleline or another vehicle, they cannot hit or be hit.
Stationary vehicles can be hit except where their progress is blocked. Macgor has stated the car that was hit was in a situation where their progress was blocked by the wall and thus they can not be hit.

A few years back, we were at Palmy stockcar teams and Sam Hughes got taken out while stationary facing the wall. Was deemed a fair hit, as his rear was facing the racing direction and he could have reversed with the flow of the race. Would have been only just past the square on to the wall, which we thought it was last night. Times have changed, or a different point of view? I was sitting with Sam last night watching the stream. We talked about both these events, last night.

The rules may have changed since then
There have been a number of changes to teams racing rules over the years and there could be more after the teams racing hui this past weekend

Huntly are looking very good. Next year will suck as huntly never stream anything and if palmy win then we get videohub ππ. I cant figure out why people like pits tv so much, its usually the one we watch obv and it seems to be bad coverage to us. following cars that the commentators arent talking about, a crash will happen and we still watch a car thats going round and round. commentators will be giving results and they will flip to a interview, interviews are great but we also need those points updates as well. they need a producer to say not going to inteerview for 10 secs, wait till points update is over then go to interview, have producer watching racing and saying switch to camera 2 and then 4 etc i cant comment on videohub too much as only watched them once for a meanee event but we had no issues with them.

Wellington put on probably one of the best teams meetings I've attended. Drivers put on an absolutely awesome show. Hats off to each and everyone one them and I salute those behind the scenes crew, managers and those who organise everything. Loved the set up for the consolation races which themselves almost stole the show last night. And who could believe we actually had all three races. I can't remember the last time Palmy had all three consolation races on night two. Only grumble would have to be the commentators who at times were cringe worthy. A big congrats to the Raiders. See you in Huntly next season!!

Having worked with The Pits crew at the NZ Supers in Wanganui last year, I can reassure you that they do have a director in the van calling all the shots. The commentators were constantly getting n=messages in their ears when they planned to break away from the commentary for interviews, or where they had a replay, and they wanted us to comments from the monitor in the commentary box. At Wanganui, we did not have a big screen, so the commentary Ramjam and I gave on replays was pretty much irrelevant to the crowd at the venue. Likewise, my race commentaries were based on what I was seeing live, and not what was on the monitors. Mintie, Ramjam and I had a debrief after the meeting, and we reckoned The Pits would improve their product (which from a video production point of view is outstanding) if they had their own commentator in their van or elsewhere at the speedway commentating off the monitors, so the commentary matches the picture the viewers at home were seeing. That way they have total control of the audio and video feeds that they are streaming, and editing for subsequent television use. The track commentators could then continue as normal, decsribing the action they saw, bringing results, points, grids etc for the paying public at the track. In our collective opinion, that would be a win/win.

I can see for myself what's happening on screen but I do want to know about the stuff that happens off camera. The way we have it at the moment is the best of both worlds(mostly) and even if I cant see it I can hear that car xyz has come to grief. The type of set up you are advocating for is best suited to post production voice overs such as for TV packages etc.

Was extremely disappointed not being able to attend due to our Level 2 status up here in Dorkland, but after initial problems The Pits provided us with a good solid stream. Not the same as being there, but the best you've got when you're not. The action was top drawer all night, but as you mention I too certainly cringed cat some of the attempted humour in the commentary. No place for that at a speedway that promotes itself as "family".

this format they used suxs, go back to the original/or how it was the last few years, auckland with all their misfortunes could of still had a chance of taking this out if this were the case, and the other 3 teams who got into the top 8. congratulations to Raiders/Pumas/young guns on your podium, also 33s on your last stockcar teams race, not a very good way to end, looking up @ your accelerator, and any other driver retiring from stockcar teams racing, thanks for the memories. .

The consolation races were a great idea, hopefully Huntly continues with it next year. Greymouth had to have won a lot of fans with their attitude in the last couple of races in particular, we don't have the quickest cars but we'll stop them if we can Already planning the road trip

I think they should, nothing wrong with saloons and midgets and modifieds, all good classes, but we are there to watch teams racing and Superstocks or Standard stocks in particular these weekends. Just give us crash and rolls all weekend. Support with consolation and the other class if needed. I liked Nz in Rotorua total Supers and Stockcars both nights. When i go to watch saloon champs, then give me those classes as supporting.

And if there is a producer i again cant understand why we follow a car that is just going around and not the group that is hitting and going to the wall. also why the cameras dont change quickly after reds to show why we gone to reds, commentators will talk about the crash but we still looking at the stopped cars on tracks. and its not just once its been several times we have watched streams from different events. It might be a case of what people prefer as well.
