Very sad news that John passed away at 2.01am this morning surrounded by family at his home in Darfield. He will be hugely missed. Our sincere condolences to Chris, and all the family at this very sad time I understand details for Johns Funeral will be announced tomorrow  |

Can feel the loss to the speedway world when you see the outpouring of messages from all over the country on Facebook for John
Thank you for all the hours put in providing entertainment for many over a long period of time. Prior to night 1 of the recent NZ title all the drivers and cars went onto the infield and spoke about John, who was watching at home as he was too sick to attend, it would be great if Jase from the Pits could edit that up and release it
There is a great young man in Jackson that will continue to make sure the name is present

A Funeral Service for John will be held in the Darfield Recreation and Community Centre, North Terrace, Darfield, on Friday, 16 April, at 2.00pm.
The wearing of race team shirts by speedway friends at the service is encouraged.
Donations to the Darfield District Nurses who cared so beautifully for John would be gratefully accepted and can be made at the service or online at bit.ly/jplovelady1204. This link will be active from tomorrow onwards.
Thank you so much for all of the beautiful flowers and messages that have been sent. We have been overwhelmed by the love and support.

Not unexpected, but still a shock. RIP John, and condolences to the family. A huge loss to speedway which will be felt far and wide.
