With the latest announcement that you will possibly have to book a time slot to leave Auckland over the holiday period and presume return so border control can process your vaccination documentation I would doubt that many competitors would find this ideal towing a trailer laden with vehicle , spares and personal gear.

Sadly this decision is becoming more straightforward by the day. Without a consistent plan to allow free travel throughout the country for the summer it's hard to see how tracks can confidently plan allocated titles or how drivers can put together a build up or title plan. Postponing all allocated titles to 2022/23 season appears the prudent decision. Are drivers and crew not Sportspeople ? If so then it shouldnt be a problem : Double vaxxed and in bubbles : I know that simplistic but the question has to be asked

Such a rush may create more crashes and then bingo there goes the traffic light system , We were told yesterday at the testing site that this was being fazed out Hoorah Hoorah ,but like some of us we have a border exemption pass as believe or not we are essential for all levels .. Its not rocket science ,but i may of thought SNZ may of come out long ago with the plan to scrap the titles ,so our sporting people could make plans of choice had the oppurtunity arose not left in limbo till the last minute ... Dont all rush at the gate and be late ,and the summer sizzle goes ahead at Paradise valley ..

So everybody racing at the new zealand stockcars will need an exemption. That's only under red. Being a sports person is no merely enough to grant you travel exemption. Look at Auckland npc team. Look at waitakio. It must be some strong community benefit or financial benefit. And out side of the world 240s and palmy teams no speedway championship would qualify. So thats under red. New zealand stockcars in napier last year and for 220 cars the stands were what I felt quite empty. Then there is people in motor homes staying at the track. Great but doesn't to much value to the local encomony. Then there is the fear of missing out. Must get to the track by 2pm on finals day. Again another strike against speedway as it stops afternoon activities and going out for dinner. Before palmy team champs I always go out to dinner first then get down to the track. Food for thought. Very unpopular view.

Hence all of the Fireworks meetings are cancelled. And that a track will have a staff of approximately 100 people on deck for something like a New Zealand Superstock Championship. For anything above a club night, it just doesn't make financial sense. Barry B

I will close this thread now as the decision has been made and another thread started. I'd never hoped more to be wrong about something than the subject matter of this thread than when I started it several weeks ago. But at least the uncertainty has gone. A very positive move by SNZ in times of such uncertainly.
