Have to admit I'm glad the Sidecars are back for the 2nd night, have always felt the "wide tired" support classes have a detrimental impact on the track surface.

As much as I love sidecars I don't think they're a good match for teams, they normally run after a open wheel class to get a decent racing surface which teams racing is likely to give the opposite. The other issue is the races are over in less than 2 minutes so it gives the teams less time to repair cars between heats than any other class would

That would be epic.

The last time the sidecars raced at the teams we put on a top show, the crowd loved it, we also had an injured competitor in hospital from Australia with a broken pelvis, we had a collection on the night to get him home, and this was well supported on the night. So we have I believe 2 heats x 3 races, as well as Superstock consolation races, running after open wheel classes doesn't always give us a good track either, especially if it isn't wheel packed

The consolation races are nearly as good as the teams races. Were even better when they used to over wet the track. One of the few chances us South Islanders get to see 30 odd cars in a race.Might get to see all three of them for a change since its an early start.
