it could have a big effect on travelling series like War OF The Wings etc
even those running their fuel costs through their businesses will have to think twice

Just pleased I don't own a boat... Well this pirate lives on a boat now for 18 years and I recon it’s much cheaper than your land lubbers costs. I don’t contract local and don’t intend to, luckily track of choice is only a couple of hours away. No sponsor at all or crew so just the usual for me. I now have a company vehicle but haven’t broached the subject for use out of district but local use is given. I have wondered about you lot with power bills, mortgages and kids are getting on with the current financial increases. Perhaps I will have better meetings with less cars on the track.

And it's not just the towing costs that are going to have racers scaling back their involvement this season.
The tyre situation is bordering on dire now, you can't just ring up and buy a Hoosier, they are under ration; supplied at the distributor's discretion. On top of that, including GST, a right rear for a Mod or Sprint Car is nudging $500. Even if that isn't a concern, guys are going to have to pick and choose when to use a new tyre and possibly even avoid racing on tracks that are notorious for tyre wear.
And if that wasn't enough, last year methanol was about $1.80 - $1.90 per litre, this season it's up around the $2.60 mark. That soon adds up when you are going through 60 litres on just a club night.

DO you think it would be better just to sit on the grass and play with the loose change in your pocket and worry about the mayoral race instead watching the rich and famous race there cars just a thought grumpy ooophs Crumpe ..
