since the actual council was disfunctional and have had to be replaced with an overseeing administrator, does whatever structure is in place, have the power to enact controversial policies? ex-nat m.p. anne tolley is the administrator. maybe some direct meetings with her might be advantageous.

This stadium idea is being promoted by a self-serving organisation called Priority One. The proposal seems not to have come from the commissioners or the council, but we need to be mindful of their propensity for yielding to pressure groups in the past.

Some great news ! Latest update. Speedway fans should be thrilled to see that Baypark will still be the home of Speedway Just over a year ago, Speedway was given notice from the current CEO of Bay Venues that our pits would be chopped up this winter and re-shaped into netball courts. And that Speedway would be gone by 2029. We are pleased to inform you all that the current master plan proposes that the netball will be on the eastern side of the property. With a possible inclusion of Athletics (if it was to actually vacant the Domain). And that Speedway will continue to use its current pits. But we may alter how we operate slightly. Parking will shift to the other side of the site, and we are still waiting for traffic management and parking layouts of how the site could be used by all user groups. This is all still a work in progress and some logistics to work through but we will keep working hard for the best interest of Speedway. At this point in time, it appears TCC still has an appetite to keep Speedway at Baypark. We as the Speedway are making some sacrifices to allow other users to join the Baypark site, but we are hopeful that we can make this work and Baypark as a whole can be enjoyed by our wider community. While we still may have some reservations as to what our councils, long-term vision might be for Baypark. The best thing we can all do is get in behind and help make Speedway the place to be as a valued part of the fabric of our city. We hope to see you all trackside on opening night, labour weekend. Will you be there? Follow this link for more info. As this is the Agend for the TCC meeting this sept 4th. Go to page 120.
