Were very lucky with the weather. Yes not what we are use to at the Springs. But is what it is. Good to get out supporting open wheel racing. Till next season. Thanks Springs team 🍻

The Auckland Stockcar boys did good at Baypark 4a,208a and 94a in that order in the Gold Cup feature, the Auckland Stockcar drivers have done well this season 👍 sorry for the distraction 🙂

Just bit of wind burn. Been to Baypark 7 times this season. Enjoyed every meeting. Great to see a good sized crowd there last night.

If current promotor didnt have more than 1 track. i guess season would of ended way sooner than it has given reason for only being able host 5 meetings. Dont want refund any money those purchased western springs season pass. hence the reason attempting run many meetings they can at waikaraka park. quite frankly your hosting 12 meetings at the springs. people dont want go waikaraka for these shows should be able get refunded. dont pay go another track so surely do right thing and pay fans back. last meeting of the season at $30 really does sound like cheap night for them expensive one for the fans..i'd imagine the crowd turnout be just as poor.. This is one of your best posts so far this season , It shows the sacrifice of the die hard fans ,that buy season tickets to see there sport ,only to be let down ,by a hopeless promoter ,that simply either doesnt care and rips people off .. The administration be hind it all is so lapse ,you can see how when meetings that include the Springs at Waikaraka gate takings are charged accordingly ,but the question remains over the seasonal pass the springs fans have purchased ,of course a percentage goes to the ASSCC from the promoter ,the springs fans on seasonal tickets pay twice .. Thanks we aim to please lol always said you purchase season pass your risking loosing meetings through natures unpredictable weather you really want to go play it by ear. you know that never going get refund back do whatever can get out of paying fans back. was like start of the season how springs originally had just 11 meetings. so those purchased for 12 nights getting stung already well before any weather had intervened. couldnt careless was at waikaraka park i want to go there pay see Stockcars.. i will not get ripped off if springs manages get any meetings for next year would do the same. pay at the gate when meetings actually on, otherwise be many disgruntled supporters having to travel further see their saturday night heroes.

I think we are fortunate to have people like Wade Jennings who secured long term lease and positive alterations to WP. Apart from grizzle has anyone from WS done anything positive to secure WS as future secure home of open wheelers. While both venues have same promotor both venues council owned who dictate terms and conditions, and with Eden Park Trust putting out sweetners like extra concerts under cover, public transport moving crowds in and out, makes council decision do they spend money funding flood ravaged WS back to life or do they give a lift up to Eden Park which has potential to hold some Commonwealth Games events should NZ be granted a round. Tony Quinn applied for round of Supercars series but pushing Taupo as getting more bang for buck for NZ tourist industry to help his case. Bruce must be in similar scenario in Auckland with cash strapped council who have been exposed for inadequate storm water drainage to deal with climatic changes which require huge funding from a already tight purse and trying to get them to dip into the purse to fund restructuring WS for open wheelers which to be honest like speedway not even on radar of majority of ratepayers.

Some times you just got to laugh at those trying there best ,to put on a show ..Sadly the Springs race fans deserve better ,and hopeless cant deliver once again . Next season i would not be surprised if you dont see more registered cars heading for Bay Park you are spot on.. hopeless from day 1 im not a fan of going to Waikaraka Park.. all it does is shows the council we only need 1 track. kick springs to curb and run in the dump ... Hopefully will rain saturday and save the cream pie from the promoters face (low car count low attendance) Springs fans not showing up to a meeting because they are having a sook will really show the council how badly 2 tracks are needed attendance wise, great thinking …

There has been much discussion over many years regarding the SPRINGS and its future long before Wade become involved at Waikaraka ... We tend to go over this topic every so often ,it seems to have a catchy phrase about it some how .. On the radar more recently was a whole page on Eden Park if you had been to spec savers more times than most the article was worth reading just to cheer you up .. In comparison to Open Wheelers at the Springs ,there is a grim reminder do something about the poor quality of racing and spectator wise ,dont start blaming the grandstand etc ,having 30 year lease means nothing in this day and age ,how the council ran things yesterday ,does not mean the same as to day ..

I think the issue is what does speedway do in Auckland in the future and do current promotors understand todays needs compared to the past.Speedway needs to grow and attractive newer fans before any financial commitment from local government is considered for a new speedway track. Unfortunately the current springs promoter hasn't helped the cause due to his own actions. A promotors job is to promote the event and manage all aspects of that event.
I do think speedway will return to the Springs when the venue is back operational but this promotion cannot be there without the additional help it clearly needs when that happens. We need people with vision..
In relation to Stadiums in Auckland and around the country. Rugby is a dying sport in New Zealand and a few sold out tests a year isn't going to get a return on any financial investment
We as a country need to move past that and understand, you aren't going to make any money via building a stadium for Rugby and Cricket matches in the future. Those days are long gone
Eden Park were smart enough to see were the future belongs post COVID and that's not via sports anymore.
Concerts is were the money is these days and the RFA now have competition and a new player competing for the promotors $.
