Lost in the latest date allocation for next years Grand Prix, a date was released for the NZ Sprintcar Title to be held at Western Springs.
Just one day has been announced being 17th February 2024. One would like to think a two-day show would be possible given Sprintcar numbers in the upper north island and around the country. Perhaps this date is a placeholder for the time being given the uncertain state of the track?
It's about the only news in relation to Western Springs so I'll take it as a positive.

I was surprised to see Western Springs get a date at all. Thought might have been left out completely.
Agree a two day meeting be better.
Nothing been said regarding anything being fixed there yet.
Fingers crossed.

Perhaps it will be run at Waikaraka Springs and you can use your season tickets from Western Springs just like 2022/23? The promoter ran a meeting at Waikaraka Park where local drivers ran it as a Springs meeting
Hhhhmmmm - wonder how many would run Waikaraka springs. They did run the north island midgets there even though it isn’t a facility that contracts the class

Council from memory only allow one night meeting at the springs for nz championship. Unless they now have change of heart

Unless they now have change of heart You may recall the 2020/21 NZ Midget Title which was rudely interrupted by a covid lockdown during night 1. Was originally scheduled as a two nighter using the 5-heat one race final format.

Was originally scheduled as a two nighter using the 5-heat one race final format. i was waiting for someone to mention that. prior to Bruce Robertson took over as springs operator. all of SNZ titles were only on 1 night deal. dating back last nz sprintcar title at WS . previous promotors had tried to get 2 night championships were declined. some how now 2 night championships are ok. before NZ Midget in February 2020/21 was also snz tq title was also had 2 night deal, over christmas/new year period.

Be suprised if NZ Title over 2 nights. numbers in north island are really strong. aint too many South island drivers make the trek besides Leversedge and Jamie Duff. yet to see Connor Rangi racing for nz title in north island. hopefully more of south island are able to come up springs. then would realy boost numbers even more. way i see it just be drivers from ws Baypark Pn and kihikihi.
