One of the most looked forward to meetings of the season takes place at Meeanee this Saturday. Certain to be a large attendance so be sure to get there early to snare your favourite viewing area and to accommodate this the public gates open at 4.30pm with racing getting underway at 6.30pm. There are a good number of food outfits at the track so if you can't be bothered taking you own food in there is plenty of yummy options available to ward of any hunger pangs you might have whilst you wait and anticipate the racing action to begin.
On top of the fireworks, that are scheduled to be fired at 8.30pm there are large entries in most classes, a few of which are virtually at full capacity already, including well in excess of twenty in the TQs, Superstocks and Stockcars. Ministock numbers look to be close to forty and they are accompanied by Super Saloons to round out a very full programme.
Streetstocks were the most action packed class on the opening night but sadly they are having a night off so it will be up to the stockcars to step into the void to provide the metal crunching action, kind of like they did on opening night. The fact they have a teams race between the Meeanee Maulers and the HB Orange Roughies looks to be a good start to the biff and bash he all hope for!
At last look there were 25 TQs (who provided three roll overs last meeting), 31 Stockcars and 24 Superstocks which is a good start. The list of entrants can be seen here hbs.raceday.co.nz/entry-list/clo0wi75f00183p0kelgj19bf and if you can't make it Kiwi Motorsport Media will be there live streaming the meeting in the excellent way they always do. Buy their coverage here www.kiwimotorsportmedia.co.nz/live-stream/
Finally, please follow the directions of the car park attendants and the traffic marshalls especially on leaving the arena, and we will all get home earlier (or you could always pay a visit to the HB Speedway Club's Clubrooms for some refreshments and to discuss what you have witnessed with fellow fans whilst you await for the traffic to clear a bit.
