The North Island Saloon Title was held at Stratford last night and I hope someone was there to share the juicy gossip with us because by the look of the lap scoring it was a night of controversy!! Firstly, the title race appears to have gone 22 laps. An unusual distance made even more so by the entry form stating 20 laps! It appears the pass for the win (by the actual winner) occurred after lap 20. Which leads me to the second point..... 1nz Jarrod Fletcher is recorded as a DQ. His overall race time and lap scoring chart suggests he won the race on track. Does anyone know why he was disqualified? speedhive.mylaps.com/sessions/8469943

It looks like Jarred has taken it on the chin. Personally I think it is a bit overzealous to not factor in the damage to the rear of the car when assessing the height (particularly since that item was specifically checked in scrutineering and passed)

To put it diplomatically, there were a number of issues throughout the night. In the first Mod race 124s won from 63a yet the printout had 63a winning with 124s 9th. 68h was 6th yet the sheet showed him 2 laps down. There was a 3 car run-off for 3rd at the end of the night. 11a was allotted grid 3 for that but no explanation was given. There was no marble draw, was it fastest lap times.......who knows. Then in the run-off itself the cars raced a full lap an a half before the green light came on. This affected the result as 68h backed down the back straight the first time thinking it was a false start, but no Yellows came on either.
