Hi all,
New to the forum, been following speedway since I was a young fella. Took the plunge at the beginning of this year and purchased my first car and now I'm trying to track down any info, photos and stories/memories people have of this car as it seems to be known by a few.
It's a TR8 saloon with a 4.4L Leyland V8. What I know of it so far is that it's a Kuriger frame that was then built up by Jumbo Berryman. It passed through a few hands after Jumbo had it including Craig Korff (8s), Hooper motorsport (26s/12s), Jabin Clapperton (9p) then supposedly disappeared. I purchased it of a fella in Tauranga and have been working on it as a project to get back on the track, needed a new steering rack and a a few other bits done to it.
I've got a few photos of it through its career so far, I believe it was also raced by Blondie Chamberlain a couple times. Be interested to hear people's stories or see some pictures anyone has of it through the years!! The plan is, if it is indeed Jumbos TR8, to put it back on the track in its original Yellow colour and body style as a nod to the man himself and hopefully I can do it some justice behind the wheel.
Cheers!

Hopefully others can fill in more gaps. But the car was raced as 11W by Glen Shingleton and then after that was the 41M of Neville Stuart. After Stuart it went to 8S Craig Korff and you seem to have all the history correct after that. It is a jumbo built car but other than that I don't know its earlier history.
It has been a very successful car. However one sadder point to note is that it was involved in a fatality whilst running out of Wellington, when a wheel came off the car and went into the crowd.

Thanks for the replies. Certainly looks like it's had its ups and downs. Was this car built for/by Jumbo or Shingleton? Or did Shingleton have it after Jumbo then moved on from there? I've got photos that were sent to me of it as 22a in yellow when it was first built supposedly but just want to confirm what car this actually is that I've got now I've done some reading. I see Jumbo spoke fondly of one TR8, is this it?
