Disappointing news today that the Boultons have cancelled the series this season
They have stated that the aim of the series was for a fun environment to build camaraderie between the drivers and all their crews and families, and with the current infighting throughout the grade, that can’t be achieved this season

There is not so much that but a lot of tit-for-tat going on for several years and differing loyalties through out the classes.
I.e no exhaust on left hand side is clear return serve...(a salooon car would be safest for left hand exhaust, but only classes that cant have them..) bodies are a chance for another camp to have a go.
Certain people with vested interest in orginal motors dont like more open approach. Certain chassis builders dont like how things have moved on.. others worried equipment becomes outdated..
You sit on a technical committee and you soon see this stuff coming through.

With the amount of carnage at Meeanee sat night the Super Saloons are destroying themselves, doesn't need cancellation of a series. Hopefully the Super Stocks have taken note how to crash and bash for their title meeting on same track in few weeks time.

Anybody heard about an email from SNZ today regarding the saloon rules ? Just saw a comment from Peter Schouten that he was looking forward to racing in the north island over the break but in a weeks time his car will be illegal so he is parking it up and not racing at all

Anybody heard about an email from SNZ today regarding the saloon rules ? Just saw a comment from Peter Schouten that he was looking forward to racing in the north island over the break but in a weeks time his car will be illegal so he is parking it up and not racing at all It may relate to the December SNZ Newsletter: www.sporty.co.nz/asset/downloadasset?id=e3854299-0cae-498b-b517-7dd8d9130923This contained a link to the following "Saloon Database" file: www.speedway.co.nz/asset/downloadasset?id=0cc92720-e641-406b-9377-3c1fda2435d2The above suggests a stricter interpretation of the Saloon bodies needing to match a real road car rule. However in last Months update they also advised the following would be enforced from January One. "Saloons: T11-2-14 Front Airdam The positioning of the airdam must start at the bumper line and not above. No plastic panels are permitted above the bumper line." Anyway it will be one or the other
