One of my perennial dislikes with the Superstock Teams Nationals is the lack of a draw prior to the event so I'm delighted to hear the draw is being conducted Wednesday. Will add talking points and hype to the event.
Hopefully the Stratford Stormers will have the Rees Shield on the line in one of their Friday night races to add even a little more spice to the racing action.
I see on the Waikaraka Park website we are starting at 6pm Friday night. For the benefit of those living outside Auckland, Waikaraka Park is located in one of the most congested areas of Auckland and is a mission to get to on a Friday night. Not sure why we need to make it so hard for fans to get there when we only need to complete 11 teams races and 6 hot lap sessions. At a very generous 20 minutes per race a 7pm start time would finish at 10:40pm. Hopefully earlier if the officials read the riot act in drivers briefing and get the drivers gridded up efficiently.
Might have to dispatch a few blockers on the way there to get to the venue on time (to see the Grand Parade which should have started at 5:20pm rolling out the gate at 5:55pm!!)

they should give the teams 1 min to grid up then the lights go green until a team has their blockman start from the exit of turn 2 or even turn 4 for that matter and picks off the opposition lead car. Didn't they get rid of rolling starts partly for that reason? I agree tho, the p!ssing around with the griding up is just a circus.

Parking in the side streets around Waikaraka park over the years ,can prove costly as there is a element of crime that targets the place .

An interesting draw with a fascinating matchup 1st up between two of the perhaps non-favoured teams. One of them is going to have a solid chance of making the semi finals.
Raiders vs Young Guns is worthy of a final and that will be the one to watch on night one. Plenty of big name drivers in the Young Guns up against the a team that works well together and has all the pieces to make a charge for the title.
Which such quality through the field a team (or maybe two teams) that wins one and loses one could make the semi-finals.

MY advice is to get there early and park outside the main gate entrance ,there is plenty of room on the grass but that will fill quickly ,so rattle your dags and dont miss out ok ..
