watching that video clip it was hardly a good track. practically 1 lane from the get go . probably was more passing on Friday nights heat races at springs than was in feature at Waikaraka No one would have attended NZ Champs at WP if was there. maybe 12 cars WP doesnt race that well for open wheel cars, even mods are average at best there, the shape doesnt suit the open wheel stuff. great stockcar track , i have zero problem with it for the stockcars as it does race good for them cause they can hit (not that they do) They've got a great big lake next door, surely the Springs Faithful can form a bucket brigade and tip it onto the track. Imagine the embarrassment if Waikaraka rolls out a better race surface than the Springs tonight (frankly after last night, that's not much of a challenge) WP Track was awesome Saturday night with multiple lines throughout the night.... Dust only arrived in the Dirt Cup final about 15 laps in and it was minor compared to Friday night at the springs.... TBH I wish they had the NZ Sprint car champs at WP.... really disappointed with WS prep team.... they should of being putting water into the track from race 1. Understand they had been informed of potential downpours which didn't eventuate....

What you fail to take into account when considering passing maneuvers is the eveness of the cars in the Mod field. The 1nz machine was 6th car home and 4 of the 5 cars in front of him were ex-NZ champions; pretty hard to pass a car that's going just as fast as you. The Waikaraka track on Saturday was spot on, even more so given the hot dry weather recently and one thing the drivers' really appreciate is the absence of tyre wear. Both rear tyres on all the cars barely had a mark on them after 30 laps, no doubt a walk through the pits at the end of the night at the Springs would have revealed a collection of very worn tyres.

HMM I thought they stopped the water truck from leaking ,but there is still a small amount of dribble coming out from somewhere ...

You're ALWAYS going to get more passing in the heat races of ANY non-contact class than you are in the final/feature on any track, by nature of the random grid draws with the talent scattered throughout the field vs fastest to the front, slowest at the back. HMM I thought they stopped the water truck from leaking ,but there is still a small amount of dribble coming out from somewhere ... So what you're saying is that you left the Springs on Saturday, assumed a cunning disguise so Uncle Frank didn't recognise you, and snuck into Waikaraka to compile the evidence to categorically disprove everything I said. I will admit however that my statement about the tyre wear was conjecture based on what I saw when walking through the pits after racing on Friday. To be honest though, couldn't see that parameter changing all that much in 24 hours.

Unfortunately Epmurc no matter how much you defend WP, facts/ figures video's some people have rose tinted spectacle's and WS is superior in all facets. I don't see WP supporters bag WS, each track is suited to different class's. The current situation was brought on by mother nature yet WP competitors and spectators didn't bag WS but obliging accepted changed program so they had somewhere to race. As they say, some eat turkey while the rest of us eat feathers, at least WP has a long term future as a speedway venue. I'm not pro or anti either WP or WS, but with stupid comments like 'WS is superior in all facets' it's hard not to point out how absurdly untrue that could possibly be. Without thinking too hard at all, WP is more often than not much gentler on gear/tyres/equipment than WS, sure they can have track issues but it's generally much more consistent than WS in recent years. 2nd point would be affordability, especially for family's and pensioners, again no real contest here and an issue which is becoming more important in recent years with escalating costs. There's 2 without any real thought and disproves the stupid blanket statement you've made.
