I have to say the 5.45 start time at Western Springs works well for me. Same can be said for the earlier finish. Waikaraka Park need to consider doing this as well.

Waikaraka were well behind the 8 ball in terms of start time last night. After the modified grand parade was canned they replaced it with a ministock parade instead with the outcome that racing didn't start until well after 7pm.
It's been said here before and is still a perfectly reasonable viewpoint - grand parades should be done and dusted BEFORE the meeting start so that the race 1 green flag drops right on the advertised time.

A Ministock grand parade? Were they taking the mickey? That's something out of a speedway comedy sketch up there with a quarter midget pole shuffle!
As for the original post - no thanks. Start times have got earlier and earlier in our sport to try and satisfy families to the detriment of the sport. It's no coincidence track preparation is worse these days, our tracks are not only exposed to more horsepower but more heat and more sunlight.
What needs to happen is tracks running a sensible number of classes/races. Waikaraka generally does this well so its sad to hear someone decided to delay the show with a comedic grand parade. A good show is a short, punchy show of 3 to 3 1/2 hours and a 7pm start time works for shows of that length.

The kids & parents certainly enjoyed their chance for a Grand Parade for their Auckland Champs.

The kids & parents certainly enjoyed their chance for a Grand Parade for their Auckland Champs. It also gives Kids and their Parents in the crowd an opportunity to see how young some of these talented kids are and may entice them into the sport of Speedway It is also a reward for the time and effort that goes into presenting their cars. Dont forget they do not get prizemoney for their racing

They ARE the future of the sport, and deserve a parade on their Auckland Champs night. I would have expected more support from you.

Mini Stock racing should be done and dusted by 7pm! . Why? They can race on most track surfaces so I don’t see why they can’t race the same time as all other cars
