By Petrolfumes Video's unfortunately there looks to be more empty seats than taken one's, same at WP last night. Basically WP a chilly club night, Stratford a championship night which only comes around on rotation so who knows when see the winged warriors like that again on your local track. Big ups to Stratford club, don't think they could of done any better from feed back getting, and too all the competitors and crews for putting on the show. Won on track speaks volumes for the class.

They seriously didn't run an event for 4 cars!? Yip we did, for these reasons. 1/ Those drivers have still put the effort in to race and arrived at the track ready to go. Sometimes you need to look after the competitors too and those four drivers deserved their time on the track. 2/ It keeps the gapping correct in the program for results posting, any protests and issues to be sorted before the next heat, reducing the risk of delays and 'dead track time'. Reason #2 first, #1 second!

Why did 71s get put to the rear of the field in the 2nd heat when running 3rd, no information from the PA, that would of of put him well ahead on points going into the last, would not have had to make the risky move he made. .

Was ruled that he hit the 43gm car as he lapped him, putting into the wall. This brought the Yellows on and as Jacko was deemed to be the cause of that, he was sent to the rear.

So in your mind where do you think WACKO JACKO ,could of ended up in the points table ,given the fact he did crash in the third heat ,and if he didnt crash where he did trying to pass ,.. I do hope you enjoyed the meeting wrapped up in your puffer jacket with the cold wiNds blowing off MT EGMONT ,While others enjoyed good sunny weather ,in shorts and singlets ,

Isn't there a 10 min period after the race before results become official to allow time for protests.

For some reason I've thought 16 cars for the finals for some years now, although that was more back when they ran more often at the likes of Rotorua and Nelson. But 20 Modifieds around a few of our tracks, including Stratford, is definitely a few too many for both of the reasons you mention. Barry B The rule book states twenty cars so although sixteen would have been better, twenty is what it has to be. No it doesn't, plenty of Modified champs have been run with 16 finalists.

No issue with running 3 heat deal or having 20 cars in final.
Both formats have their pros and cons. 20 cars on most tracks excluding Rotorua is also no issue.
No one can say they weren’t entertained on Saturday night! Racing was top notch. Isn’t that the main thing?
Yes there was a little carnage and we were the first to be the innocent victim of someone else’s mistake but that is just the way things go sometimes. End of the day we need to put something on that fans get excited by and there is no doubt that the 3 heat deal can provide that a lot more than a follow the leader one race deal sometimes.
One race deals only have the best cars competing against each other at the same time in one race and by then they on a track where passing is limited.
Like I said, either can work and some work best at some tracks white the other option suits other tracks. In my mind Stratty picked the right format for their track.

Fun fact. Just like at the Tama Memorial meeting earlier in the season, Brad won the main event whilst Sam won the consolation.

Fair enough, still would kill the 3 heat format for non-contact. All systems have issues just in my view the 3 heat has the most issues

The rule book states twenty cars so although sixteen would have been better, twenty is what it has to be. No it doesn't, plenty of Modified champs have been run with 16 finalists. M4-28 Option One – 3 Heat Finals M4-28-1 Qualifying (a) Qualifying for the finals to be a minimum of two heats, marble and reverse draw, per group, over a maximum of 20 laps per race. (b) Repechages may or may not be run at the discretion of the host track or promoter. Where repechages are included the highest unqualified competitors start from the front of the grid. (c) Two repechages are required when more than 36 entries are received. (d) Point and Grid ties will be decided by fastest lap times, countback system, or marble draw over the qualifying heats, as stated in the Entry form M4-28-2 Finals (a) Finals to consist of 20 competitors, racing over three heats. (b) No competitor can be seeded directly into the finals (c) Points are awarded as per finishing position from 20 points for first to 1 point for 20th, regardless of whether the car crosses the finish line. (d) Highest point scorer over three heats is the winner. (e) In the case of a tie on points for first, second or third place overall, there will be a 4-lap run off. In the past you could submit an alternative format to SNZ to run, now you cannot. I would suspect that finals with less than twenty cars were run when you were able to run different formats.

Having watched Kokpit Media last night featuring the current 1/2/3 NZ modified drivers, it came thru just as Empurc and Jamo have been saying, it was a well run and organised meeting. Competitors helped one another, just such a positive vibe. Stratford Speedway must feature in the SNZ awards .

I don't agree or disagree with what you say, but just point out, it would be fairly unusual for someone to get 1,2 or 3nz who wasn't happy with the way the event went. 🤣

Jamo praised the meeting yet Foxy was 1st out in finals and got credited only 1 point. Brad got pointers from Murray Gordge re set up and his a Race Works chassis, Luke had local guys step and help and he'd only meet them Sat morning and the south island guys gave and also received a hand . Seemed to be good vibe in pits and good running of the meeting would of helped to contribute to this. Even Kokpit Media praising meeting. Meeting won on track not protest room.
