surprised that teams do not have fire extinguishers in their pits. Have you not been to speedway lately? As part of scrutineering and season greensheeting you have to have a fire extinguisher for every car. Will get you some photos

I often wonder how many actually disclose that they are carrying DG goods on board or have a license to do so plus sign when asked by the pretty boys in there travels

Unfortunately they are using the awful boring format from the Midget 50 lapper. Boring time trials with b dash and a dash.
Best thing NZ Speedway has over American Speedway is the lack of mind numbing boring time trials

According to my data the last Sprintcar Time Trial at Western Springs was 27th November 2010. On that night Craig Dollansky set quick time of 12.141.
The time trial record is 11.772 set by Ricky Logan on 17th Feb 2007. This was the first sub 12 second lap at Western Springs.
Jonathan Allard has competed in 4 time trials at Western Springs with a worst finish of 3rd. Only kiwi drivers to better Allard in a time trial are Colin Entwistle (twice) and Rodney Wood.
I have 6 recorded Sprintcar time trials in the electronic lap scoring era. Quick timers being Ricky Logan (twice), Joey Saldana, Craig Dollansky, Jonathan Allard and Colin Entwistle.

Was near end and most of our drums of Avgas (as we were allowed to run then) were empty.

I often wonder how many actually disclose that they are carrying DG goods on board or have a license to do so plus sign when asked by the pretty boys in there travels Class 3, Packing Group II, dangerous goods (which are flammable liquids including petrol, diesel, and methanol) do not require placards on the vehicle when transported for domestic or recreational use. The same regulations allow up to 250 litres to be carried. Try doing some research before throwing shade at all the competitors in our sport.

Meeting was ok. It was a bit of a shame that all the efforts that went in and prize money on offer that a better race track was provided. The competitors were racing/fighting the track and not each other which was the same for the nz title and ni title.
Lets hope they can get that part better next year

What was everyone’s thoughts on 3 classes running? Definitely the lowest of any track currently running in NZ. Baypark always runs 4 classes, Waikaraka normally 5+ n a regular basis.
Provided plenty of down time between races and took away the urgency of the meeting.
Outside of main classes makes it hard to gain experience. Going for a model similar to formula 1 where you have to work your way up to race at western springs in the big leagues (midget/sprintcar) or be lucky enough to have your class run on an occassional night.
Track produced minimal damage considering in sprintcars. Midget struggled and the 1/4 midgets did well

Yes i thought we were a little short changed on the night as far as classes were concerned ,and i do feel sorry for those who had to standdown from racing lets hope this promotion can gear it self up next season a little more for the classes that have patronized the Springs far more than some of circus that has shown up from across the road ... The crowd is surely the proof which speedway they prefer in the city of sails ...

Lack of other categories usually make up the meeting were at Kihikhi racing For Waipa Championships including tqs along with Sprintcar front runners Jamie Larsen and Daniel Thomas. both contracted to Kihikihi could be reason there omission at the springs.
Was tough night in Midgets shame with track taking out MP was shaping up for one best races track dictated otherwise with crashes took out few of top runners. on the night my driver of the night dont get much mention James Dahm went from grid 9 finish 2nd. his battle with Ryan O Connor was great to see. Allard was just too good for anyone on the night.. congrats Daltons race team. finishing 1st and 6th.

Larsen has M on the car. Brindle has K but was at WS, must have gotten a release.

These constant thinly veiled barbs that get thrown at the "other" speedway have me thinking that we're living rent free in someone's big shaggy head.
