Hi there guys was just wondering about the rotary saloons at the John Webster meet on Sat.
One I know was 13a and the other has left my mind but man they sounded and looked great.
Unfortunately someone decided my programme was better needed by them and was busy crewing so did not get too much of a chance to catch up but any information would be great or photos.

I guess you are talking about Steve Muir's 20B NA Bridgeport Mazda Cosmo. It started out as a RX7 batmobile with a 13B J Port but now is a Cosmo 20B.

[[/quote] HI ROGER , MACCA HERE. CAN YOU REMEMBER WHAT THAT RECORD WAS? In those days the track record times were in just about every programe from memory, Cheers. Are you the person that races the Corvette with MACCA on the front splitter.

Watching Macca race is well worth the price of admission. ;D Ok Lap Records for Saloons at Waikaraka 1979 on. Basically the only change to the track layout was in 1996 with the back straight wall being moved back a bit to improve the exit from Cemetary (or Turns 1 & 2 Grrrrrrrr! ) and the track surface has had some interesting mixes over the years. 1979-80: (At season end) 1 lap Rolling: John LeFeuvre (16/12/78) 18.8 8 laps: John LeFeuvre (06/01/79) 2min 33.1 10 laps: Mike Whale (14/01/80) 2min 59.0 12 laps: Jim Richards ( ? ) 3min 52.0 15 laps: Bruce Taylor (16/01/80) 4min 00.5 20 laps: John Scott (25/02/79) 6min 35.5 1980-81: (At season end) Changes from 79/80. 8 laps: Ron Willoughby (10/01/81) 2min 16.0 1981-82: (At season end) Changes from previous. 4 laps: Ron Willoughby/Roger Kesseler (20/03/82) 1min 15.0 12 laps: Blondie Chamberlain (16/01/82) 3min 49.0 15 laps: Alan Jago (16/01/82) 4min 47.0 35A Roger Kesseler was registered as Torana SLR 78 for 81/82 season? 1982-83: 4 lap record still unchanged 1983-84: 4 lap record still unchanged 1984-85: 4 lap record still unchanged 1985-86: 4 lap record still unchanged Conclusion, Roger is correct, except he possibly set it in the Torana and not the Mazda? I can't find any times in the few programs I have from this season, these are from 2005/06. 1 lap Saloons: 16.1 SuperSaloons: 16.68 10laps Saloons: 2min 54.83 SuperSaloons: 3min 05.61 How accurate are they?

VERY WELL DOCUMENTED THERE PALLMALL. I KNOW MARTIN HALCROW WENT SUB 16 SEC'S DURING A RACE AT THE SUPER NATIONALS IN MARCH (15.9 BLA BLA BLA) . THINK MY FASTEST LAP DURING A RACE IN THE FEW MEETINGS I'VE DONE THIS SEASON IS 16.09 BLA BLA. NO QUESTION THE TIMING SHOULD BE SUPER ACCURATE WITH THE TRACKS SYSTEM NOW, SO I DON'T KNOW WHY RECORDS ARE NOT BEEN SHOWN IN THE PROGRAMS OF LATE.
