Just found this photo of Eddie Hawkins chassis. Antzgofast has a heap of photos of the TonyMac flat chassis cars, maybe a new thread is needed.

That little coupe pictured above is just one of the best looking stockcars I have seen.
The 98w was actually built by Clive Elliot and Don Hodge.

98w has always been a favoutrite of mine - I recall when he raced for welly at PN, he had the hemi screaming amd black rims looked real tough. THe last time i saw it race (must have been a couple of seasons ago) the Hemi was still very rapid. Do you know if CLive still has the beast (hemi and all) and if its coming out of the shed anytime in the future?
cheers.

Yes, its still at Dons auto electrical business. I think they purchased a new block for it, and Bryan Hartley has got some more power out of the head, but this was all a couple of years ago, and the car hasn't been out since. These guys are real enthusiasts, and run on a really tight budget, and its always great to see them race. I haven't visited them in a while, need to go and catch up.

Thanks for that steve38 - be great to hear how the guys are going. I recall when they came out with the new engine, and it certainly sounded like it had a heap of power - at the time i remeber hearing comments along the lines of it sounds supercharged.
Go the Hemi! Hope to hear the plans at some stage.
cheers

That also would be great to see - I have always thought it such a shame that such a good car has been for whatever reasons unable to get to the track. However, My pappy always said if your going to do something do it once and do it right, so at least we will know that the new motorvation should look the business. Cant wait to see the pics!
As an aside another Grey was performing very well in a Tony Mac designed car at easter - Kelvin Grey was very impressive in Stave Hamptons car at that meeting. WOuld be very cool to see him out in a T-mac chassis...actually out full stop would be good!
cheers and good luck to all in the offseason.

Maybe, maybe not, but it is a very good copy. Look at the chassis rail layout and compare to the bare chassis photo of Eddie Hawkins car.

There is another one floating around, it was 10w built and raced by Carl Furniss, it had more offset than Eddies and had a chev in it
