I think this car was originally 31i of Dion Mcmurdo and came out around the same time as the Campbell Macmanaway car which were similar. Mcmurdo car went to Bouzaid and Macmanaway car went to Palmy with Brendon Locke.

 Thats the car he means!!! There was a nice shot as 2w on the back of a NZDTR mag waaaayyyy back. The car was brand new,at full flight,black as the ace of spades(B & W Photo too of course) with just a roof number and it hadnt been spoiled with a wing.(Coupe bodies dont suit wings IMHO  ) Think it was with Tony Mac at the wheel but Clive Cooper was the owner. Someone may have that copy somewhere and could post it up for all to see?

 I'll take a stab and say around 1988-89 and the photo was on the back cover Eddie Hawkins had his one built just after from memory I raced Clive in his Coupe bodied Mod around 1989-90 so am sure he jumped out of the Stockcar and into the Mod around then.

the car he raced in 07 was a car he built himself, im pretty sure he raced it at the teams the year before also when it was only about 4 or 5 meetings old

No it was not driven by Brian Musgrove.
As I said earlier in the thread it is the ex Tony Mac/Clive Cooper 2w.

This car has appeared before in a Tony Mac thread. It ended up with one of the Wards in palmy and was for sale here on macgors at one stage. Pretty sure it is now battling around in Wanganui with a boring lookin ford y body?
