Is the Stocky the ex Tony Hammond 43n Ford V8 that was original Paul Walker (?) car from Stratford??
Looks real similar and too close not to question.We were looking for that car when MIA first started.

I had the video on youtube of tony cardwells crash at the NZ's in Blenheim, a young smart mouthed boy who said he races ministock 47w said he owned the footage and called me all the names under the sun as well as a heap of profanities (which our kids saw  , i saw no copyright on it and posted it for the interest of others), so i reluctantly removed the footage, The clip is lost to anyone who wanted to view it as that footage was the only one of it on youtube. Bit of a shame that a smart mouthed little t(osser can dictate terms but hey i had no idea who owned it and that was stated on the video intro so thought maybe it was best if it was lost to everyone in the world to keep this boy from Wellington and his ego happy |

autopete 55 i bought the car early 90s from wayne dennison (spungy) in dunedin,im pretty sure gerald Griffith's owned it prior to him,unsure of its history before then it had 221 ford v8 HQ g/box Mazda b1600 diff and no back wheel gates

Pete, Possibly you will mean the former Rex Knight/Geoff Thom car, built in Rex w/s in Stratford early 80's, looks a lot like it,

Some information I have been given regarding the 27I stockcar up the page and discussed in a couple of posts. My informant suggests that it is the ex Andy Hurst car. Gerald Griffiths did have it, but hardly drove it as he was asked to drive the ex Kevin Free mini bodied car for Japanese Auto Spares. The car was instead driven by one of Gerald's crew, Phil Hayes.  |

Hi Bobkatt22 - the skylab rides again! Towbar Dave in GM rebuilt the cage and a bit of other gear for a local guy, who on sold without racing to another local, who also onsold without racing to some fella in CHCH. The car raced as 31 gm at Ashburtons world cup of stockcars - this car must attract interesting paintjobs, as its now got the camo scheme going on.  great pics from Brian Hopping and TJ Palmer at the www.mainlandphotos.co.nz/ website |

Hi, yes was quite surprised to see the ole girl roll into ashburton speedway, was my first stockcar and was a good learning car(a few lessons the hard way mind you)wayne wilding came round home after hearing i had brought it and gave me some good advice,best memory with that car-3rd battle of the stocks paired with Terry Hern.
