grantos the car was built by my dad (Ross Game 79a)in 1972 (the year I was born) he raced it then sold it to my brother inlaw Neil Ramsey then dad got it back and on it went to others. when Murray Dunn had it it still had the original chassis rails but a lot of other stuff was changed over the years ie: bumpers, roll cage, side rails etc. They had all the names of the previous owner/drivers on the body dad corrected them on some of the owners, as they thought my brother Bill built and raced it he was only 14 then, but yes that is the car, when will you have it out again and what engine are you running etc?
cheers Rhody Game 141h

I bought the car for a bottle of rum from an old man at the gordonton garage in 1977 when i was 15. it had a chopped vw body vanguard diff and dodge tube front axle the chassis was as straight as new. it had no motor or box .I ran the car with a cresta motor, i have photos of her at that time. it was run for 2 seasons ,when the track closed at ham i sold it 2 lyndsy swale. he repowered her with the v6 ,he only changed the front and rear bumpers. he ran the car out of of rotorua. very competitive bar the weight!! of her , he sold it to Ian Turner who got quite a bad neck injury ,i raced her for him till her sold to when they were finished with her ,i believe it nealy got scrapped. in the time murry raced the car i had to update the roll cage. i have the details of the original cage. Did the car have a 221 ford v8 and fargo box when originally built? thanks rody for your reply

hey there redman, I had wondered where this car had ended up. A bit of history i know on this car, was raced by callen hose before he went to superstocks 99r i think then sold to Grant Duske who raced as 65r for a cople of seasons then me as 36r for about 2/3rd of season. i sold the car to someone in kihikihi it had a 215 hemi in it but im pretty sure he repowered it. May have been raced at huntly then i think. Still looks like its hanging together ok.
