I have read in the past that "local" coverage of the world 240's streaming will be blocked, and on the Rotorua website they say that its aimed at the british market (must be cheep as chips for them @ just under $7us) but when I read the the website of the outfit that is doing the coverage, there is no mention at all of it being blocked anywhere.
I havn't got a chance in hell of getting to Roto that weekend and am thinking about getting it streamed. Is it just hearsay that it will be blocked or is it just BOP subscribers that will have to get off there asses and go to the track or blocked for NZ or the north island?
Hopefully we will be able to watch it here in Welly and enjoy it as much as I did the Western springs boxing day stream.

No it's not blocked to NZ, this was the original understanding but in the end wasn't possible to do. I do understand though that due to our beloved Telecom and their not keeping on the pace with technology that the size of the picture you will receive will be quite small, whereas in Britain it will be the full screen. I would rather be there and the fact that I am not has nothing to do with the fact that its being streamed. I do have one request tho.... if its at all poss can GH please wear a paper bag over his head for the finals night, No make it two just incase the first one blows away or rips ;D ;D ;D. Many thanks

Jeez Ramjam, thanks for jogging my memory and making me realise that this is the first one I'm going to miss since the 240's began in 1987.........streaming the meeting is truly a world first for NZ stockcar racing, and its great for us stockie tragics who can't be there!

Would be interesting to hear more feedback on the service. The coverage live from the track began at 6.30pm NZ time, but I see some people mentioning delayed coverage. I had texts saying the same thing. Possibly up to 20 minutes?

The delay depended on the speed chosen, 150 kbs was most up to date.
There were times when the feed locked up then it seemed to resume from the same point resulting in overall delay from live which is better than missing the bit during the delay. It could be that the faster downloads had more lockups resulting in the longer delay.
The overall coverage was very good, it is can be frustrating to watch stockcars on video as the camera is not always on the cars that you are wanting to watch. This is worse with live coverage as they don't have the chance to edit.
I would pay similar or more for NZ superstock champs, and teams champs!
One suggestion would be to have the option to view later, so I don't have to stay up to 4am! If I could watch first thing the next morning (and can resist checking the results) I would watch even more events.
My thoughts.

We tried a couple of the speeds and found a delay of about 10-15 minutes...and a few 'lock ups' as well, but overall it was excellent and would definitely use it again.
