I'm not on the greenstone park committee - please read these veiws as my own.
Greymouth were keen to hold A South Island stockcar teams event on the 13 December. They contacted the glen adn a couple of other tracks about it (the promoters first) then didn;t hear too much back.
The next thing you know the Glen calendar came out - with a stockcar teams event listed for the 6 December - the week before.
The only thing i had heard about this teams event was it was three tracks, who would put three teams on at once and race over three heats i think.
After one race with three teams in it, i dont think the Greenstone Grizzlies would be interested. If we teams race again it will be a 5 on 5 proper teams race.
After Woodford Glen have decided to develop there own teams meeting rather than work with other tracks we would have to ask our promotion first if they would be keen to release us. You'd have to wonder after the way they have been treated.
Let me again say - these are my own veiws, not those of woodford glen.
A big thanks to the Blenheim Club, and the Titans and Kens cowboys. While the format may have been different, we were happy to work in with it too make sure your non team cars were able to get three races in. We hope we can repeat the visit next season.
cheers p.s in conclusion - no idea if the glen are still goign ahead with anything at all

The format will be the 5 on 5 not the other all in format like we ran with streetstock state of origin a few years ago.

thanks for the update craig.is there any truth to the rumour that south island stockcars has had a date change. Be interesting if it does. Having spoken to a few Greymouth, Blen and Nelson cars there appears to be a reluctance to travel a) in the middle of the working week - its still two days off work after holidays allready b) so close to the NZ title - 10 days away, anyone thinking of going has to consider the potential damage risk. Especially when it looks like being more of a canterbury champs with a handfull of visitors. If the promotion choose a sensible date they might get a reasonable turnout.
