Rotorua really blew it against Waikato, 3 runners and 1 blocker for much of race, got to Tony Wootton too late. Last couple of laps awesome as it was all on, Tyson Wootton with heaps of damage to fix. Jamie Marshall-Carter out for night.
Those loyal Palmyites Carlos Chesnutt and Billy Neill flew the Manuwatu flag again, Neill rolling Mooney and then trashing his own car, Tye pretty good too.
For some reason Stratford has been DQ'd from their earlier win too, HB now 7th, Strafrod 8th,
Golden Oldies up now, Red Wootton on pole from Paul Wade (85H Tank) and Tony Redfern in Scott's #96H

Al 55v had a problem with his coil before the race started so switched to blocking roll, Bit of side rail damage its touching the chassis (bit of work to do there)

Red in Karl Ross 73H, but faded after leading early. Top race, heaps of positional changes, but Redfern way too smooth and quick to win from Wade and Bomber Britton (Kris Allen's #86H). Britton almost got Redfern 2 laps from home, but then dropped back again. Dutchy repaired, but tangled and out.

Yes, Rotorua's 4 cars were too much for Wanganui's 3, basically raced as 3 pairs with Nick Vallance driving cooly to win a pretty tame race.
R2 for the Golden Oldies, reverse grid, Dutchy all the way from pole, took the chequered on fire!!!!!!!!! Had to be pushed around with the flag. I think Bomber Britton just caught Tony Redfern napping on the final turn to grab second.
Final is about 10 mins away

Runners all weekend, Carlos Chesnutt and Tony Wootton, in block mode from drop of green when Carlos on brakes from pole. Tough, tough race, Billy Neill survives 3 last lap Huntly attacks to take victory. Huntly just outsmarted, their first time in the final at this meeting.
Excellent night, well done Red and crew at Huntly

Those old fellas havent lost much then have they ;D The old fellas appear to have forgotten nothing. I think if they had a bit more lap time in the cars they would surprise a lot of the current crop of drivers - I had a wee chat to one them after the races and he commented that the current cars are a dream to drive and easy to go fast in.
