Well done to the Auckand Twostars and team members for winning tonight at Huntly Next year drop Palmy and bring in Auckland. By the way NZ league team won the world cup with all new zealand players ;D Agreed BOP. An excellent event overall with supreme driving by the Auckland duo. Look forward to seeing the Auckland Alleycats back at next seasons event in place of the Invitation team.

Dont mind having the Invitation Team winners but cant see how they could be called the Manawatu Steelers apart from Manawatu Steeling 2 of Aucklands best.

Some of us in the pit stand decided to call the Team "Manawatu Alleycats" a bit of tongue in cheek..........
Most importantly the crowd tonite saw some brillant driving by 2 very skilled masters of Stockcars, Billy Neill and Carlos Chesnutt which was a pleasure to watch.
Congratulations to the team and well deserved.
Hats off to the Wooton boys, and the rest of the Huntly team and to all the other teams who battled well all weekend and put on a terrific show.
Well done everyone

i called them the " steelcats "
an incredible display by two masters, the carlos and billy show, very interesting to see carlos directing and signalling what he wanted during the races.

Some of us in the pit stand decided to call the Team "Manawatu Alleycats" a bit of tongue in cheek.......... Seems to have been a common theme, I heard plenty of comments about the "Manawatu Steelcats" and the "Aucklandston North" team ... Most importantly the crowd tonite saw some brillant driving by 2 very skilled masters of Stockcars, Billy Neill and Carlos Chesnutt which was a pleasure to watch Seconded absolutely, it was superb. It was one of the very few occasions south of the Bombays when I'd have freely admitted to coming from Auckland. Oddly enough I was the only one on the infield at Placemakers who got excited about the win Something else the crowd got to see was a rather unusual victory lap from the Palmerston NorthOfTheBombays team Cheers Gary

Not sure they can be uninvited now that they are defending champs, however this much can be said and it came from Red Wootton himself - next year teams WILL be uninvited if they cannot field a local team with local drivers.

I for one dont care who or where a driver comes from or who he is. or who he races for.As a paying punter you would have got your moneys worth and more.Well done to all the teams and Huntly Speedway for giving Jo public a show to remember. ;D To Carlos and Billy,The two old masters.Hope all that raced with or against you learnt something .

There are 4 drivers in a team and whatever part they played aided the end result.Personally i thought Ron Tye was as big a part of that team as anyone. The two newbies will have learnt a lot and i hope they continue team racing.

Yep Elmo , Ron Tye did well for the team. His car was missing a bit on the second night ,but his blocking was outstanding. The thing is ,the team that won the title ,were the team that were not putting in the huge hits, just smart racing.Carlos and Billy were magic to watch, very clever teams racers.
