where did this information come from? I find it hard that such a track would be direct competition with SNZ rule regarding distances etc? Can you give us more confirmation of this or sources etc

Furthermore neither WP or WS are going to close down. WS although has limited meetings must still operate as a Speedway as originally outlined in the gifting of the land?
As for WP - well if they were going to run black which they never were, the ASSCC hold the lease and hold the contract with SNZ so my understanding would be that despite who is in control this season or next season if SNZ were going to grant a division One licence to another track in the greater auckland area they will have to notify and some kind of justification of this would have to be entered into?
This would cause several problems, problems which SNZ might want to avoid.
Of course who is to say that the "SO CALLED" new track is evening going to operate under SNZ, they may choose to affilate themselves with CTRA etc

Also..... surely such a development by now would have seen to pass by council concept plans etc. I for one could not understand why a developer of such a venue would not be using the media or even consulting with former promotors, drivers, key personal in the overall development of this project.
When a developer does a subdivision the first thing he does is align himself with a team of people to bounce around ideas, as far as i can gather no one has mentiond this till now and its allready been given the rubber stamp.
BOP can you confirm where this information was obtained?

BOP has started the post and now needs to place factual information on the site to back up the claims. A post such as this must have creditbility and until that information is given to the public and members on this board then this post is nothing more than an idle ramble of baseless non fact.

G'day, info here taken from another thread
"Does anyone in Macland have the real juice on whats happening as all cancellations of classes are purely hear-say as far as I can tell. ps, good luck to all Speedway competitors this WP season, though I suspect many will turn up next season at the new Hibiscus Coast Raceway. Cheers Z"
This post was done early on by Zitadel maybe he too can shed some light as to this track, location and information.
I believe BOP has only posted information based on his findings and as a way of trying to get information via an open forum.
Someone must know something and would be great to be able to clear this all up
Just my 2cents worth

For years there have been dreams and rumours about new tracks in Auckland.
From the resurrection of the Meremere Super bowl to the Speedway tracks at Wiri, and of course Erickson Stadium.
Seeing is believing and when I see it, I will believe it ...................

It would be great to see WP so overfill with drivers in every class and so popular that every meeting they had to turn people away at the gates but until that happens I for one would hope anyone with the $ to build a new facility would put their money and effort into seeing the full potential of existing tracks.

Folks I admit this is all just rubbish, there is no new track coming on the Hibiscus coast or any where else. This was weeks ago and cant believe it took so long for me to see it become a rumour. There is no threat to WP and never was intended to be. This is TUI territory, its so easy to put anything you want in to Wikipedia. i meant no harm, just a laugh at the time that I honestly thaught was dead on arrival. It was funny at the time but now it seems a bit stupid. Zitadel. hould have kept it till April 1

another silly myth "busted" or perhaps we should contact the keyboard police for another case of "foot on keyboard" disease. This is contagious so be careful and some of the worst cases are found on Wikipedia
