I'm getting excited already looking at that line up and it's still over a month away. All ways hard to pick winners out of so much talent but I think the Southeners (Bolton , North ) to name a couple will be up there .However Waddell & McIntyre could just spoil their party & with Emmerson (if he can stay a bit tidier than recent form) making a strong Baypark onslaught. Can't wait .Bring it on!

The NZ Super Saloon champs mainly come down to a Demo Derby who can survive the damage. Great to watch.
Will proberly get in trouble for saying that.
Agree 26m form seen to changed going by Huntly meeting, Waddell alway up there. Im sure Lovelady will set Emerson car up good for NZs, it doest seen to want to turn corner

We have recieved two more entries being 35g Darren Mckinley and 54I Norman Butler these two were not in the original 35. Also there is talk of 2nz saloon competitor Dave MacCallion making noises of entering after his outstanding run at the NZ Saloons at Huntly.

What difference does it make if the car has raced in another champs ? As a sport we should be looking to include as many as we can in these events not looking to exclude people. Dave's a good example, if he could enter then there would be many southern fans that would specifically come to watch him race and I see that as a good thing for the sport. At a time when numbers at most tracks are declining now is the time where we should be encouraging all those who wish to race.

I think the supersaloon boys and the superstock boys got upset when
a)stockcars stopped superstocks from qualifying b)I think Phil Towgood had a 5nz at the nzs at Huntly one year? And that upset a few supersaloon drivers no end.
I think there is a way of getting round it - you need two logbooks. One log book as a super saloon, and one as a saloon.
Definitly be good to see him down there, though with the long straights you'd think he'd be too far down on the horses to make a big impact.

The roll cages are tagged so you can not run two log books. I don't think anyone got upset at Twogood running at the NZ Champs at all. At that time there was no championship for saloons and there were quite a few entering the super saloon champs. Until Standard Stocks became a national class (and changed their name) they ran in the Stockcar champs. I think this came about when stockcars become a national class. I think some may have felt it was unfair that stockcars could run in superstock champs and have two cracks at a NZ title where superstocks could not have a go at the stockcar title. It was pretty much a foregone conclusion that saloons would reach national status so the rule was applied to all classes at the same time.

If I remember corretly both Towgood and Craig Richards where both running methonal with bigger carbs at huntly. I think one of them was running 450mm rubber as well on the rear. So they weren't really ltds as they were run.
