I was disappointed with the racing in the Sprintcars tonight. Little passing and little excitement. The Kiwi contenders all found a way to get themselves out of contention while Ricky Logan drove to an unspectacular victory.
And what the heck was going on with those time trials?? Whoever came up with the idea of trialling two cars at once had not thought it through at all. As many as 5 cars could have launched very credible protests.
At least the Midgets put on a great show.

I'm glad it was not just me that had those feelings about the night then Percy.........I feel better for knowing you felt the same. And what's with not opening the big gates out into the public carpark? They're always open straight after racing concludes.......several thousand people into one wee gap does not go. Will be interested to see your meeting rating tomorrow Percy.

Gosh you guys will never learn . You go to the Springs for midgets not Sprintcars . There used to be a track in the Bay of Plenty that was good for the sprinters . Rumour has it that it's still there somewhere .

Rumour has it that it's still there somewhere . Yes, and the Midgets were good.....again. Not as good as the opening night Feature however. I'm almost a Springs veteran now, two visits this season and it's only the first week of December!!

I will presume this uninformed poster must be talking about the Super Saloon track in Tauranga

Granted there has been more exciting racing in the past, but a average Saturday night at the springs still beats a good Saturday night trying to find something to watch on the telly or moping around speedway forums.
I came home satisfied after a good nights race spectating and am looking forward to boxing day. Unfortunatly the only driver that could have given Ricky Logan a run for his money tonight turned him self around while a mile ahead, but was good to watch coming back through the field.

rated 7.5/10 for me,
jamie 71a. had a lazy night. nz cars well on the pace just silly mistakes, 1nz just a night to forget,
was real close on the final lap. well done to the crews for hard work on repairing there cars, see why nz have some of the best private sprintcar teams around,
migets were great entertainment. close racing, good size fields,

Yes, I think 1NZ, 22A and 71A all had the speed to win, just not the game. In the end 10USA was not pushed, although I'd be interested to know the final margin? Browne made a huge launch at the finish line, with Logan baulked by tailenders, although I suspect he probably had 4 wheels on the grass at the time.

I think that system of running a championship sucks.Ricky Logan was always going to win given that he does 100+ 1 lap time trials a year and no one else does it except at Western Springs on the odd occasion. In my opinion the car who passes the most during the night deserves to win.Good on Dean Brindle and Skinny Colson for actually passing cars not just driving round in the procession.

Parrot - If you have the fastest car then you are going to win. During last weeks Western Springs feature Ricky Logan carved his way through the field to take the lead until he hit a rut and bounced into the wall. He did plenty of passing.
Lastnight there was not so much passing during the sprintcar races. In fact when you analise each race there was very little in the way of traffic being lapped.
So in saying that either the cars were all faster on the night and/or the track just wasn't there for the type of racing many of us sprintcar fans were hoping for. Even the likes of Wako and Jamie did a solo in spinning their cars out all by themselves totally unassisted.
Darn shame Jamie did it so early on in the feature as he was half a lap ahead of Ricky Logan. It would have been a great race if he had styed in front but it wasn't to be. Jamie also clocking the fastest race laps on the night.
Yep good on Dean Brindle finishing 3rd after passing 8 Ryan O'Connor considering that Ryan held Dean out in an earlier event. Dean of course started in 14th position.
Chris Uhlenberg was not at the meeting.
Next sprintcar races will be great with the Americans competing.
