I heard that the guys are told they are to leave the women drivers alone on the track. Is this true.

my partner is driving her brothers car while he is in aus, and knows that as soon as she uses the front bumpe to expect a little bit back. on the other hand rose halfpenny gets as good as she gets and keeps on racing hard.

Dont think so. Have just come from WP where Rose Halfpenny put a good hit on 95a Gary Longeran. About three laps later he put a huge hit on her ( and I do mean huge ). Dont know if there was anything behind the hits ( apart from 1.4 tonnes ) but there was certainly no holding back in the hits from either driver !

They would be suckers if the didn't hit them lol. It's like anything, if you willing play with the 'big boys' be prepared for revenge...... Goes for the girl and guys. I'd be peeved if they stayed away, whats the point in getting into a full contact sport if everyones going to avoid you

It was just something that i heard. But my own thoughts were, if you want to get out there with the boys and drive stockcars and you knock them around, then be prepared to get knocked back.

At the beginning of the off season I seriously considered buying myself a stocky and on here and other places spoke to guys about being a girl joining the ranks. I wanted to get a stocky for the sport...hits and all, not to be namby pambied. There was a good response here and I reckon if you wanted to get into the sport you will be one of the boys. I have since changed my mind and am spending my money on something else just as fun but without the ongoing cost for how. Will still get a stocky though, just when the kids are a bit older. Until them derby cars will have to do coz they heaps cheaper! ;D ;D

As a chick........I take my hat off to all the women stockcar drivers...I would never do it.....Jeezus Ive seen a lot of hard hits in my time and I swear I have wondered how some of these guys and girls have walked away from some of them......If you dish it out you have to be prepared to take it....Stockcars has always been a mans sport ....if the girls want to give the guys are go...Go hard but I personally dont think they can moan about being hit..........

of the 33 registered stockcar drivers at baypark, im the only female driver! i love racing! i love it when people who don't know i race start talking to my partner about racing and he has to point out that its actually my car! hehe!
its funny in the drivers briefing whey the say "good afternoon gentlemen" sometimes i feel like saying "umm helllloooo"
its definately a male orientated sport, but i do believe the females can be just as good as the males, and dish it out just as much!
i don't get left alone, but i don't get picked on either. i haven't had any very hard hits yet, but the ones i have had don't hurt to bad!
Rissa, i have a spare stockcar for sale soon, once we find a steering box for it!

Women stockcar drivers are amazing! One of my favourites when I was a buck was: 74a Elaine Barnett (think thats her last name) She drove in the late 80's thru early 90's in a flat chassis & she got stuck in dishing it out and on the recieving end. Very gutsy lady

Shot Dave.
Of course there was 4g Lisa Williams in 'Lily the Pink'. She was a member of the mighty Eastland Eagles of the mid 90's and a very gutsy driver.

Male or Female. It dont matter!! They all here to do the business What gets up my nose is when drivers cry over being hit!!! Even heard a story of a driver being aproached after a (STOCKCAR) race by a drivers/rep and asked why he hit a certain female driver as it was a non contact race!!!! ?? Who has ever heard of a non contact (STOCKCAR) race If you dish it out, Be prepared to take the paybacks, and sometimes they come with intrest. Green light comes on, Free for all, Tv crew or no Tv crew!! After all we aint here to play tiddily winks
