I think this series is brilliant and hope to catch at least 2 rounds this year (Napier & Rotorua)
who / how are the drivers for this series selected?
do the drivers put their hand up and say "Can I come?" Is it by invitation? or a combination of both.
There seem to be some regulars and others seem to rotate.
What is the limit for numbers competing?
It is just the website is a little short on info about these things.

The website will be getting more info added once I've finished celebrating Dave McCallion's 2NZ ;D ;D ;D Steve invites the drivers for each series. Competitors are capped at sixteen for now.

How did tony williamson end up getting into the series??? I advised Steve of my decision not to participate in the DHL a couple of weeks ago. No doubt Tony had previously indicated to Steve he would be available. Certainly great to see three of the sixteen crossing the ditch to participate which will add significant interest value for the spectators.

How did tony williamson end up getting into the series??? Great towing Dunedin to Gisborne. Right around the North Island to Rotorua then Rotorua to Dunedin. That is commitment for both the Dunedin Saloons entered I will be catching the Wellington, Palmerston North, Huntly and Rotorua rounds. Wouldnt it be good if other classes followed this idea, even Production Saloons ;D

Yes it is going to be a big commitment for us but the support we have had from our club and fellow racers from surrounding tracks has been awesome. Offers of help and encouragement are still coming in and we are madly working on some sponsorship deals that may prevent me from sleeping under the truck while away.(No thanks to my bank. They can stick their mortgage right up the their #@%#) The reality for Island Park Speedway, as a club, of having two cars entered in such an event as this is something to be proud of and I only hope that Tony and I can deliver. One thing is cretin, we will have a good time and plan on bring some of that Southern hospitality north. Cheers Mark
