HI All,
the West Coast stockcar champs are on at greenstone park raceway this weekend. I think there are around 12 or so locals, and there was talk of potentially 4 visitors making there way there from around the track.
Is anyone else interested in coming and racing with a great bunch of blokes on the sunny west coast?
Wed 19°C 11°C Thu 16°C 10°C Fri 18°C 9°C Sat 18°C 10°C Sun 18°C 12°C Weather will be awesome, bring the suntan lotion, as that west coast sun is brutal. Hopefully most of the team cars will be repaired and back out in there home colours. I know i have a decent nights work coming up when i finally get there on Friday morning!

Funny you mention that, I definitly do need a hand - gettting from Hokitika airport to a certain Rununga workshop to straighten out the damage from the weekend. What time are you heading through Hoki? I fly in at 1020am, but i suspect that might be a bit late in the day for you?
Hope you've got the falcon sorted, and you get a chance for a run in the beast this weekend. Be good to go for a skid!

Mate, I'll sit in anything for a ride! My last trip to the coast was in the Bread truck from chch (funny what you do to save on costs when you've got to pay for a stockcar) with a top bloke, so definitly keen for a lift if possible. Great news with the ignition, hope to see you up here will be a great day for it by the sounds. After watching teams racing at Huntly and PN in the last month I must say I'm hanging out for a skid! hey if you dont mind riding in a unimog then ill pick you up on the way through... its alive again...turns out the ignigtion sys was soaked..so im happy about that, and the trucks getting the pump done today,so should be all go..

talk???more like yell in that thing... i better not forget ya at the airport ae,all hell will break loose on track ;D haha - not sure about that, after the teams raceing experiance I think i've got being hit covered, still need to get the hitting sorted out yet. Last years WC stockcar champs was full of hitting, with some big shots given and taken. I expect it will be a big meeting, with defending champ Dwayne Honey showing some good pace so far, in between popping the right rear of the back of the car. NO doubt he'll have that sorted for this meeting and be looking for a repeat performance. Defending south island champ Cleve Kokshorn will be one to beat in his new Hartley Keith Gill, and showed he can still do the job, with a win in the last at the Glen last week despite the attentions of the locals. Dutchy will be a threat in the x gary davis REes and hartly holden as well, and has been fast and aggressive. Brian Hahn has been the surprise package with his Falcon 6 freshly rebuilt, and the chassis bought from Stratford showing sharp pace in the early races this season. Tony Stanton has had the x Al Levian flatty flying, and the ford v8 loves the bumps that often arrise at Greentsone park, and seems to glide through them without losing any speed. With some visitors from CHCH an unknown quanity i suspect it will be a good weekend of feirce racing. Will be interesting to see if any visiting modifieds come over to scout the freshly laid new surface out before the SOuth Island title arrives. Eityher way, with good weather on the way it looks like a promising weekend for greenstone park.

It wouldn't be racing unless we turned up at the last minute.
At least with the West Coast champs the feature I expect we will be running at the end of the first round, so that will give me till race 5 to finish the repairs and get to the track!

Yeah its a EL Falcon with big pistons and all, so i reckon watch out for the flatty, will be a weapon once "The FOx" decides to stand on that go peddle. Might need to be standing on it from the start too, heard a wee whisper we might just get two visitors from Nelson down for the West Coast champs as well, Tasmen thunder members too boot ;D gonna make for a good weekends racing i reckon, just need to make sure they stick around for an aftermatch!
