Having taken the time to see a few of the Speedway Tracks in the Upper North Island, I was interested to know whether you thought that your track/club has improved on where they were this time last year? Have they got more drivers? Is the racing better? Have the crowds turned up to support? Are you getting value for money? And If you could change one thing moving foward for the next 12 months what would it be?
Now I understand that the likes of BOP and Barry Brown who travel to a thousand shows may not have a 'local club' which they support so feel free to review any track/club you want!

Well on the racing front, Palmerston North has been a hell of alot better than last year.
Gisborne as a whole club, in my mind generally gets better every year in regard to the compitition between drivers, competitor numbers, and how the club is run & the club's apperance. I havent been there since Grant took over, but have no doubt the club is on top of its game

Wanganui has prospered over the last year. Hosting the NZ Superstocks in February gave the club the incentive to make a lot of improvements, most noticeably the pit area. Numbers are growing in most classes, and the Wanganui stockcar and superstock teams have a growing reputation. And Roger "Flying the V" does a great job here promoting the club and the city. Good stuff Wanganui folks!

Now I understand that the likes of BOP and Barry Brown who travel to a thousand shows may not have a 'local club' which they support so feel free to review any track/club you want! I have 4 local Speedway NZ tracks in my backyard + Rangeview Rotorua 72km Huntly (furtherest 82km) Kihikihi 62km Mount (closest 58km) Can be at any of these track in 40-50minutes, They all have there good and bad thing, mainy good. I'm not one to complain Huntly has started the season well with heaps of big meetings already been there 7 time this season, but dont like there pit policy so dont arrive as early as cant get in pit the look around Kihikihi start with rain and firework and another top meeting before track rebuild, So 2 meeting done there. It goes to show what a club can do, Kihikihi are alway moving forward other track north of bombay could take note. Rotorua, 1st meeting i got to there was a club night and what a huge feild of compeditors and the biggest club night crowd ever. Has the best viewing track and food in NZ. Been back for 1st round of HOT. Dont like the pit policy Baypark, Sadly only got there 2 time this season as other clubs putting on bigger more appealing meeting, you can only do so much with 5 classes when say huntly have 8 and have already had2 invited classes in. Will get to Baypark and Rotorua more over summer. Anyway will get out of my neighbourhood in the next few weeks with meeting in Pamly and Wellington, all going well as long as I still have a job. I be at Speedway Hope it find you well and I didnt post to much dribble. David (bopwaikato) Matamata (speedway central) Am complaints PM me.

A little difficult this season, so far anyway, Aaron, as due to illness I've only attended a very small number of meetings, and only 2 tracks (Huntly and Western Springs). Maybe by season's end I'll feel a little more qualified to comment

Wellington is certainly going well in my favoured class the stockcars. With big numbers and a lot of drivers really stepping up this season they are certainly the local flagship class. We have witnessed heaps of contact and action and a skill level from a large number of drivers that will make them hard to beat at championships. Love the open pits policy and the club seems in good heart. One thing I have missed this year is the Supersaloons, we have had great racing in the past and would love to see this class rebuild. Crowds have been good and I think every meeting has been good value for money.
