Congratulations to Ryan Hunt 29m 1st, Alan McRobbie 1nz 2nd and Douglas Stanaway 39r 3rd. These guys drove exceptionally well. Two cars didn't turn up, 17p (Injury) and 46m ( ) so all were combined and the event was run over three heats. The last heat turned into a bit of a teams race as expected between Wellington and Rotorua/Huntly/Tauranga. Someone got rolled but not sure who it was, maybe 6p Alec Wilson. Thanks to all the guys for coming and racing and also thanks to Mat Phipps and Fraser Booker for being the class reps on the night which meant I was able to race.

North Island Midgets won by Michael Pickens from Brad Mosen and Chris McCutcheon. It was a bizarre night at Huntly - the lights went out for half an hour. There was some peculiar officiating, some bizarre promoting and a lot of stoppages in the Midgets on a slick surface.
Plenty to talk about in tomorrow's review.

North Island Midgets; Michael Pickens, Brad Mosen, Chris McCutcheon............late night due to power failure just before 9pm. Stunning 25 lap final though, with no fewer than 8 cautions. More rollovers in one night than the stockcar classes could manage in 3 seasons............

4GM from memory he hit the wall early in the first heat and suffered front end damage. I don't think he came out again.

How did the only South island car go? 4gm Jamie Routhen it was a rough weekend in2hit, saturday 11am cleaning car then went to start car finding it not wanting to start. spent 2 or so hours trying to find out what the problem was with some help from helpfull welly stockcars(a big help to i mite add) after having to drive to new plymouth to buy a new crank angle senor the car was finally going by 3pm. first race had problems getting around the track.( not sure what the problem was there),got shunted into the turn 4, bent the bumper around the wheel, bent right rear shockie, starter motor mounting on block broke AGAIN, lost power steering, lost a clutch, hardly no brakes. what a nite.
