I know this has been asked before (by me, about this time last year ;D) but I think that thread has long since been rolled off of the board - searching hasn't found it. How many kids can we get into the 240's on a Family Pass, and at what point do they stop being kids ? Also how much are the tent sites ? I've booked one but forgot to ask Thanks Gary

A family pass at Rotorua is 2 adults, perferrably Mum and Dad and up to four children aged between 5 and 16. Under fives are free.
For a tent site you will have to pay for the full weekend when arriving at which time you will get a weekend pass. If you want a tent site though you will have to send me an email and make a booking because at the 240's it is usually full.

Thanks Sonja.
I sent you a text about three weeks ago and you gave me Brian's (?) number, I spoke to him a few minutes later so the site is hopefully all taken care of ;D Do we just turn up in the afternoon and drive up to the camp to unload ?
Thanks Gary

Rotorua is an awesome track in every way except one - their ongoing failure to install patio heaters on the terraces ;D
If i didn't have to be back in Auckland at midnight to start work every friday and saturday night I'd be down there a lot more often.

Like the Patio heaters idea, trouble is you would need quite a few of them and imagine the gas bill ha ha.

Personally I think it is a darn cheek for anyone to charge anything above children's prices for those under 16. They can not leave school until 16, parents have the same legal responsibilities for a 15 year old as they do for a 10 year old. While I continue to applaud Rotorua for doing well, but their children's pricing should be the norm. Anyone doing any less should be ashamed of themselves. Sorry about the rant, but I'm sure the idea of pricing 13 year olds as adults could only have come from those that left school at that age.

Western Springs has a policy of those under 16 are free if accompanied by an adult,im unsure as to whether there is a "cap" on the number of under 16s,but i have taken 8 through on my adult ticket with nothing said other than "have a good night".....for real value "family" entertainment and bang for buck the Springs is hard to beat.

Would be interesting to hear when other tracks promote children to adult status.

Kia ora Chairman, Hmmmm patio heaters on the terraces at Rotorua. I agree with Sonja and like that idea. what a nice luxurythat would be. In the meantime perhaps you could ask Gordon if you could join him in his van - and if he could turn the heater on - and close the windows! Not sure I like the idea of under 16yr olds being free though - the under 5 year olds would definitely have trouble getting any lollies at the lolly scrambles - for their parents! Green lights and green flags and green tickets.

Not sure I like the idea of under 16yr olds being free though ... Seems to work for Huntly - their family pass is actually cheaper than 2 adult tickets. Gary
