Aaron, I dont agree about Willie being a good promoter as IMHO a promoter promotes their venue and events to both racers and the paying public. From what I have read on macgors in the last 12 months both racers and fans seem to be ill informed or left wondering what is going on, particularly if you live outside the BP area. Yes it sounds as though he does need a good a PR man ( and someone to run the website ) but I find it ironic that a promoter doesnt want to promote outside Tauranga or work in with other tracks to get better fields and more bums on seats. Surely this is what a good promoter does ? What is frustrating is that I along with others want to go to his promotions ( and spend money there ) but find it hard to get info out of BP other than from the good folk at Macgors. I hope to get to the Super Saloon GP in Jan and if it is a great meet ( as I am sure it will be ) I will be the first to commend Willie for playing his part in it. I have never met Willie and dont know of him apart from what I read on Macgors. My concern is not about him personally rather his ability to promote his product to people that want the product he is, or is not , promoting. Sorry, this is a little o/t. Back o/t, I hope the 27th Dec is a great success for all involved

I agree in the fact that baypark is poorly promoted. I looked at the calender when it came out and the Sth Pacific Supers was down for the 27th and knowing how this event has been in the past they will run a US style format and there will be visting cars.. It was a must see event.
Its said before, Baypark needs a website to promote its events list the cars entered, results etc..
We're lucky that we are heading down to Cromwell for the NZ after the New year.. so Will see the 2 baypark meetings before we go.. and some good Super Saloon car action!!
So who is entered for the 27th then ??

as a saloon/ super saloon fan i was tossing up weather to go to BP or the 2nd round of DHL at Meanee on the 27th. I am going to HB as i know what i am getting. Still no info on the meeting in Tauranga. At least i know i will get to see (hopefully) some great Supers at Cromwell. I can only hope for more info on the GP meeting later in the season. I will put up a list of names who enter for the North Island Supers to be run at Gizzy on 31st Jan when i return from the SI.

Now Now Barry you may have axes to grind with WK but he has been one of NZ's leading promotors. Perhaps someone should ask him why he does not want a website? In fact on Sat I will ask him personally. Still the only promotor in NZ to bring the World of Outlaw stars down here to race!. Barry, in the current economic climate WK may be happy to promote locally. If any fan from out of town wants togo, why don't they call..... what did people do for information prior to the internet?

Cold Duck used to be a good wine, Metallica used to be a good band, Police Academy 1 was great, 2 was good, 3 was ok 4 thru whatever they got up to were crud, The Oakland Raders used to be a good football team, The Palmerston Pumas used to pick the best team available. Willie Kaye USED to be a good promoter.
Things change man, the fact he USED to be good means diddly now.
I think the most stupid thing I ever read was that a man who is 'spossed to be a good promoter needs a PR man.... Is being a good PR man not what makes a promoter a good promoter?
P.S just jokin bout the Raiders, they were never that good LOL

Drevs you seem to have missed the point .... the point is that even competitors didnt even know what is happening and that includes his own. Even having a website isnt the whole issue thats only a small part of this. I agree if we really wanted to go we could always go hunting for info .... which I did. In years past when we didnt have the internet a promoter would plan a meeting as such and then they would advertise it anyway they could wether it be radio, paper, TV, signage, word of mouth what ever to get the word out .... we seem to always know what was going on. Can we say that now with BP, as i say even his own drivers didnt know what is happening and in fact one of his own drivers has made other plans and says he wont change them .... I would say that is a problem wouldnt you. Wrong - it's all personal opinion. And maybe it's WK that's been around speedway too long? ? Now Now Barry you may have axes to grind with WK but he has been one of NZ's leading promotors. Perhaps someone should ask him why he does not want a website? This meeting has & always will attract a good quality field. Local hotshots ,some front runners, from other north island tracks, plus drivers from the USA. Some will be fine tuning their weapons for the south island mission but all will be there trying to be crowned South Pacific Super Saloon Champion. Hopefully the USA driver & machine gel instantly so we can test ourselves against a top competitor. Can't wait haven't raced there this season both Steve & I will be there 27th 30th, meannee 2nd then baypark on the 3rd. Super Saloon Competitors have been very slow out of bed for the last few seasons so hopefully the best will show up .
